Toughest division

I was talking to a buddy about this the other day and we were debating which will be the toughest division THIS YEAR.

Leave historic arguments out of this.

I don't care...vote for which division you think will be the toughest to win/have the most playoff teams. Whatever.

It's up to you.

If the Islanders are anywhere as near as good as they have been in the first few games, the Atlantic.

Yes, the southeast is that easy..

the southeast is 1 or 2. Why? All the teams can win the division, and considering none of the teams are that good, there are potentially only 2 playoff spots available in that division unlike say the Atlantic where 3-4 teams can make it, becuase they are better. Just because they have more skill does not mean their division is harder, its just at a higher level.

I don't get the infatuation with the Northwest. Vancouver's soft as anything, Calgary looks horrible with Keenan at the helm, the Oilers seem alright and the Avs and Wild are pretty good.

True, Vancouver and Calgary could be very overated this year. And the Oilers are at least good enough to beat the Flyers

i think this is why people are not voting for the southeast. you are using a different criteria than most in this thread. the OP should have been more specific because you have a good argument. that division isn't really competitive on a league basis but the spread between it's teams will be close.

the northwest is also very tough to win.

The same could be said for all the people who just said "Northwest." They have the same limited number of games to go by as I do.
