Nah guy is horrible I knew he sucked scoring wise. However he makes shotty passes all of the sudden Nylander is laughing right now. Hope he sets up Ovechkin all night tonight but Rangers win 5-4 Gomez benched or out a few months if were lucky.

why dont they just trade malik and mara for nylander.. maybe the caps will throw mike green in.. that will solve all the rangers problems right?

You gotta be kidding me. Gomez has not been the problem with this team.

Well, we can all agree upon one thing?

It was a really stupid and controversial move of Rangers to release Nylander. A Nylander playing the best hockey of his career and fitting perfectly with Jagr. It simply didn't make any sense. The line was one of the very best in the NHL. (Top three)

One more response.

What is with this guy (HotRock) on "just send him down"? It's not the first time I've seen those words from him. I'm sorry, how does that work again? It's not quite that simple. Besides which, why wouldn't we want to get something in exchange for a servicable defenseman or center (as in the case of Mara and the fictional Nylander situation)? The only reason you send a player down to get his salary off the books is if it's a guy no one wants to give up anything for.

We need a 3rd line checking center... maybe. What we need more than anything is a powerhouse d-man, that before all else... but finding cap room for it is another thing all together.

I believe round one goes to Gomez. I wanted Nylander back too, but only 2 years tops. Signing him for 4 would have been a mistake, and I'm glad the Rangers let him go.

No, nobody can agree on that since the Rangers didn't release him...

And it would have made even less sence to bring him in for another FOUR years (as pointed out numerous times in this thread, he didn't want to sign for 2 or 3).
