the 2nd goal was a deflection and tomas dint have a clear view of the puck ???

It's a great sports weekend for Boston fans.
All the Boston sports teams are good except the B's, what a shame...

Still looking forward to the B's opener though. And the C's opener. And then several games after that.

I bought way too many tickets.

Playmaker, 2nd goal was a deflection, tough for any goaltender to stop.

Anyway I definitely agree with Sturm on Krejci and Kessel's line. It's not like you're sticking him on the "third" line because Krejci's line gets a TON of ice time. I think it would really rejuvenate Sturm's game because he's a finisher and Krejci is a great playmaker.

Who ? Never got into soccer. Okay, then, the Revs too. If you have to pick a team that has to lose, which would it be out of those 5 ? I'd say the Celtics, since their game is pre-season.

"Well, he's going to get an opportunity to play on that line -- there's no doubt," said Coach Julien after the skate this morning. "I would like to see what he can do with (that opportunity) and go from there.

"We are going to do whatever we can to make this team better.

"And guys are going to get ice time based on whether they deserve more or they deserve less -- to me it doesn't really matter about contracts, it just matters about performance," he said.

From Bish

Does this mean he is disappointed in Axelsson's play? Thus demoting him to the 4th line? Also will we see Murray getting less ice time? Also an explanation for Krejci's icetime... Julien doesn't care about contracts, he cares how the players perform. I like

Me too. I like a coach with that attitude.

It's a great night for hockey.

Great to see Lucic getting a chance to play with the Ks. Hopefully he shows that he can play on a top three line. If not, they should send him back to Vancouver after his 9 game trial. We don't want him being used as a goon on the 4th line.

If Savard doesn't play, I hope that first line isn't the same. Schaefer-Metropolit-Kobasew is a good third line, but a terrible first line.

The Bruins really do lack offensive depth.

IMO, Bergeron won't get it going 5/5, until they put Schaefer on his line. PB needs to play with at least one player who's also a good passer and right now he doesn't have anyone. I don't understand the need to keep Sturm there either, I mean we haven't seen "chemistry" from those two since 05-06. Time to change it up.

Krecji & Kessel need Sturm on their line. That play where Krecji set up Sturm for the one-timer against PHX, I've seen Krecji make that same play twice to Axe, who's misfired, and I don't expect Lucic to have any more success there.

On the bright side, glad to see Axe on the 4th line. I love Axe as much as the next guy, but I don't see the chemistry with Krecji that he had with Savvy. And I think if this team is going to forecheck the way they want, the way they did against PHX & for parts of the Dallas & Anaheim games, they're going to need a 4th line that can play some minutes. And Axe-Metro-Thornton has the potential to be a solid defensive line.

Oh, and I agree with Silva, I'll trade a Sox win for a B's win any day of the week (playoffs or not).
The B's said they were going to see what Lucic is capable of while he's here, and I am glad they are sticking to the plan. Lucic must be busting his a** in practice to have earned this opportunity. He probably was not going to show much of his offensive capabilities on the 4th w/Metro and Thornton???

Pretty slow on the game day thread here....

I got a tooth pulled yesterday, so I hope the T3s don't put me to sleep tonight. I plan on watching this game.

Personally, I like Sturm with Krejci and Kessel, or you put Kessel with Savard and insert banger here. (Lucic)

Hey, here's an idea to try before sending Milan back...

Put him with Savard and Kessel...

How's this look:

Lucic - Savard - Kessel
Sturm - Krejci - Murray
Shaefer - Bergeron - Kobasew
Axe - Metro - Thornton

If Lucic can't cut it, why not insert Bo into his spot. I feel Kessel needs Savy to get him free....

After a few, if neccessary, swap Kessel and Murray.

Ooops, beers empty, got to go refill.....

I think a certain Raitis Ivanans will be looking for Big Z tonight. 2 pre-seasons ago Z broke Ivanans orbital bone with a late punch. Just something to look out for.

There will be a few scraps tonight... look for Stuart to drop em... Lucic might have a go with JJ even.

Thank God! I'm not the only one... And I have no idea why. I honestly think this team is heading in the correct direction. But they are no longer the 4th team in Boston. THEY ARE NOW 5! Behind BC Football. Boston is not a college sports town, and somehow The Bruins have fallen behind them.

Stuart won't drop him he doesn't do that kind of stuff.

Johnson is a longshot. He is by far my favorite defensemen in the league (already)He's more a fighter that drops them at a moment, like to stick up for his teammates. The possibility is there.

I see these as possibilities:

Chara vs. Ivanans
Thornton vs. Ivanans
Thornton vs. Thornton (lol)
Thornton vs. Zieler
Lucic vs. Ivanans (this would show a lot about this kid)
Lucic vs. Thornton (the likely battle for him)
Lucic vs. Zieler.
