Chicago, Detroit, or New York. Chicago is almost a playoff team, and they are still ridiculously young.

The Rangers and Wings are both considered contenders, so it could happen. I think the last one was almost 30 years ago.

NY and Detroit are certainly options for the next couple of years. But I went with Chicago because of the great young core they're building.

Yes, I know it's probably a biased vote, but I have to go with my Wings.

Habs a lot of good prospects who are already playing good in the NHL now so them winning a cup in the next 10 years is not a stretch.

In order IMO:

Detroit
New York
Montreal
Chicago
Boston
Toronto

Wings have the best chance this year, but once Lidstrom retires, I see a big dropoff for them.

Meant to hit Detroit too but missed.

Detroit, Montreal, New York all have reasonable shots. Boston, Chicago, and Toronto have almost no shot.

ten years is a long time in this sport and under a cap system there is no reason why any of these teams couldn't make a run for a cup. ny and detroit are the obvious choices in the short term but i think the others could have a shot later on. if toronto doesn't make the playoffs this year there will be some major changes made in that organization. it shouldn't take ten years to rebuild a team. could montreal have a goalie that will bring them back to their glory years? boston and chicago fans have been waiting patiently for a competitive team. maybe changes will be made to appease their shrinking fanbase.

Short term I'd say Detroit, then the Rangers. I can see Chicago and Montreal becoming contenders in a few years.

Gotta be tough being a Bruins fan.

Chara wasn't an answer.

Savard wasn't an answer.

Fernandez is no answer.

Meanwhile, Thornton puts up mvp-like numbers on the other side of the continent.

Booooooo....

None. Chicago has the best chance out of any of them IMO.

Theyre just poor defensively right now. Once Rask is the #1 theyll look a lot better.
