GDT: Blues at Preds

mostly the same lineup as Thursday. Vokoun didn't practice yesterday and is expected to be out again, so Mason will get the start, most likely.

Blues' D is a little thin right now. I think that if WE can jump out in front with a quick goal or two, this is a very winnable game. I'd hate to have to try two miracle comebacks in as many days.

Boguniecki ties it up at 1 on a rebound. Zidlicky had broke his stick on the play and was in position to sweep the rebound away but missed with his hand-swipe clearance attempt. Would have been in position though it sounds like, bad luck.

Legwand SCORES! 2-1 Preds! 7 minutes gone in the third.

Good game it sounded like...solid defensively, we didn't really sit on our lead. We got the early lead, played solid D, and then put them away. Another good game for Mason, hes our hot goalie now. Big win, especially with Johansson coming back.

Good to see Toots score again. Maybe this will get him kickstarted offensively. Also good to see Legwand get on the board. We're really going to need him to get in gear for the 2nd half if we want to make the playoffs.

TERRIFIC game. our forechecking and breakout passing...if i could pinpoint two single things that have improved DRASTICALLY over last year...it would be those two things. the blues couldn't clear us out...and as soon as they got set up...one of our defensemen would make a string-tight pass to set up a rush. the team looked comfortable from the start in front of mason, and it's a shame that he let in a VERY flukey goal, because how great would it have been to get the shut out? he made two huge saves, one on demitra's "trick shot," the other on weight, point blank in the third. aside from that, he wasn't really tested.

after tonight's win, the preds are only 4 points behind the blues.

Sorry, Nomo, Mason didn't let in a flukey goal. Zids was on the left side of the goal (with no stick because his broke) and his attempt at clearing the puck didn't work. From my angle, Mase was blocked from getting to the left side by Zids.

I thought Tootoo won the fight against Jefferson.

I was really impressed by the way the team played. I thought that up until the Zidlicky own goal that we weren't playing as solid as we could. But after that goal went in, we took over. We didn't allow many decent chances after that. Definitely an impressive win.

Maybe with Mace playing the way he is showing that he can play at this level, Trotz will be able to rest Vokoun every now and then. I would like to see Vokoun play in around 65-67 games per year.

It was a flukey goal. I'm not sure that was his argument. I think he thought you were saying it was Mason's fault. Zidlicky kicked a slow slider into the net. If that's not flukey, I don't know what it is.
