my trade thoughts for this year are to trade hackett,Lapointe, and a draft pick for a goalie that has provin himself in this league!

What insane team would give up their proven goalie for that package?

The latest rumour that we heard here in Detroit is that Philly is looking for Martin Biron (Buffalo) or Manny Legace (Detroit)

I think I could probably live with Legace... I'd send Gags for Legace straight up. Gagne would likely excel in the Western Conference and Legace is buried under over-paid wash-ups... Both guys need a change of scenery.
I don't know why everybody wants to trade Primeau and/or Lapointe... This whole slump started when Lappy went down and continued to get worse (Home losses to Florida, Pittsburgh, Edmonton, Road tie against Buffalo) when Preems went down. Get rid of deadweight (ie Brashear, Weinrich, Ragnarsson) for picks or whatever and bring up Vandermeer to play in the starting line-up. The only thing I don't want to see is another top prospect + 1st + 2nd + 3rd for washed up retirement candidate type of deal.

vandermeer is not the answer on the blueline. he's prone to bad mistakes and he needs more time in the minors to develope. the man the flyers should put into the regular lineup is seindeberg, he shoots and shoots heavy. if we still had woywitka, he'd be the best d-man call-up for the flyers. as for dead weight, lets cut our loses and get rid of therien, gagne, brash, collect a few draft picks and see what it would take to get the bulin wall.

Getting rid of Gags is a bad idea.
Stay with the young guys - have faith.

Gags and WIlly are being ripped by Hitch on a cosistent basis, it can't be good for youngs to hear that, they might have probs with authority. If anyone needs outta here it's some of the vets!

ALOT of guys? Hack-job has one for sure, I think Leclair has one. Everybody else I'm pretty sure is fair game.

Amonte had one from Phoenix and I think it is still part of his contract as nothing was changed.
The only other one I thought was JR but I might be wrong.
That said, Leclair, Hack and Amonte are guys who I would love to try to move.

That's a dynamite package...they may insist on us including Therien ore LeClair, but we have to stand our ground....

Seriously, I would say a big no to Legace...He's no better than Esche, he just happens to play behind a great defense.

we need to get rid of leclair, therien, ragnerson, hackett, and either brashear or fedoruk. I dont think that trading gagne, handzus, roenick, amonte, or williams will change anything b/c i think they r doing fine.

You know, Legace isnt a bad option. I doubt Detroit would part with him though, since it looks like Hasek is done, and Legace is their best goalie. Comrie for Legace?

The only player on the pro roster with enough trade value who we could do w/o is Handzus once Primeau gets back. Esche-Handzus for Khabibulin at the deadline?

How about Gagne for Nabokov?

The Sharks can't make the trade because they have no one to backup Toskala if they trade Nabokov but I am wondering if there would be interest. It may turn out that they could have traded a goalie for more than the draft pick they got for Kiprusoff.

Are they? When? Hitchcock has made ONE statement about them not scoring. ONE. They aren't being ripped. Tim P said in the paper today that Hitchcock has encouraged them. He hasn't taken them to task. Letting them off the hook for over 20 games was damn generous of the coach! I would have been on them much sooner.

Seems like Gagne and Comrie have responded. Now if we can get the rest of the team to follow.

The Flyers need Prims back badly.

Hitchcock needs to turn Brashear and Fedoruk loose. It's one thing to implement a system but he's incorrectly using Brashear, thus rendering him almost entirely ineffective.
