GDT: 10/25 - New Jersey Devils @ New York Rangers 7PM MSG

(3-4-1) ------- (2-5-1)

7:00 PM
MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

TV: MSG
Radio: WABC 770 AM

Gomez's first game against the Devils.

Let's see what happens.

This says it all -

Quote:
Only two teams have given up fewer goals per game this season than the New York Rangers, and those teams are a combined 13-1-1.
Only one team has taken more shots on goal per game than the Rangers, and that team is 8-1-0.
Only two teams have a larger positive differential in shots for vs. shots against than the Rangers, and those teams have a combined record of 10-4-1.
Only ten teams have given up fewer shots on goal per game than the Rangers, and those teams are a combined 43-28-5.
Only seven goalies have a better goals against average than Henrik Lundqvist's 2.00, and they have a combined record of 28-6.
Only seven goalies have a better save percentage than Henrik Lundqvist's .927, and they have a combined record of 31-6.
By every measure, the Rangers should be at their rightful place among the league's elite -- except one: goals.

That quote just shows me that the team is in good shape, and we've just hit an incredible rough spot when it comes to actually putting the puck in the net. We need to keep up the pressure in both zones and hopefully we'll catch some breaks tonight.

Let's go Rangers!

If there ever was a team...

to break out of the slump against - its gotta be the Debbies.

I'm hoping that the Rangers have at least one Atlantic team's "number" this season. Well it seems its not the Penguins or the Islanders - and they only have 2 teams left. One being the Devils.

How great would it be if they broke out tonight? Just crush them, don't even make a game out of it - so we won't have to delve into the inevitable complaining about the officiating.

Oh boy would that be great. PLEASE!!!

LETS GO RANGERS!!!!

Start something!!! Start with 2 points in the standings!

I started another thread for this. It will either be Moore or Bourett according to newsday.

thanks. i was lazy and just posted in the GDT!

hope its Bourret but then again Moore has deserved a shot with his start in the A.

If it had to go to the best defensive conscience it would be Moore, but as our D is fine, we need a creative sparka nd thats why i think Bourret will go up.

He has more of an unpredictability about him and despite Moore's start, more offensive upside.

Funny, was thinking the same thing after the tough loss to the Pens where Ranges probably put together their best and most complete game of the season...they simply couldn't put the puck past a talented goalie who played very well that night....it happens.

I mean what better team than them evil Swamp Rats from across the river and ironically the Rags biggest tormentor of the past decade between the pipes, to get the boys pumped up enough to break out some cans of whup a$$...eh? I think its going to happen.....Rags-6...Devils-3 as the much maligned Jagr/Gomez line, who, maybe I'm in the minority on, but I started to see some chemistry developing their last game for the first time in the Pens game, combine on 3 of the goals. We shalt see....really looking forward to what should be a very intense and solid game for the boys....

If anything, we always play NJ pretty tough. Of course, seeing as how the past few games turned out, Brodeur will be pissed off and playing his ass off the whole way through. The only difference is we might actually get several good shots at him this season

Not too confident about a win. That could all turn around if they actually manage to score a goal or two early

We still haven't won if we didn't score first. We need to score first to give ourselves confidence and also to shake Brodeur's even more b/c he has been playing horribly. Then again we have played against alot of goalies who weren't playing well and make them look like Roy. why don't I like this situation?

good point. we seem to be making goalies look good at the moment. Jagr did say that merely putting the puck on net isnt enough, he questioned the quality of scoring chances we've created thus far. He may have a point?!

how depressed was i, the day after Manny Fernandez blanked us, he leaked in 6(!!!)

Come on lads! crash the net and score!!!

Dawes-Drury-Shanahan
Prucha-Dubinsky-Bourret

If Moore comes up to fill in for Callahan and brings his points total up from Hartford with him he would be the leading goal scorer on the Rangers with 3 They really need to step up the offense tonight. Sadly it's against Marty so I don't see it happening.
