Rangers Goal Song

Although we haven't heard it in the past two games, i've always wondered what the actual words to the song are. I've always said "go-o-ol," although I think it might be "go-o-o." And the official recording i have is "woo-o-oah." Anyone know?

Rangers are changing goal song to the Mission Impossible theme.

reading this thread makes me miss being at the garden

I used to sing ooooooo-ooooooo but I have been doing the gooooo-ooool thing for the past few years...

no matter how you say it, it still sounds good in a crowd of thousands

i thought it was ooooo-ooooo-oooo. I didn't know it had "goal" in it.

Hate to admit it but Rangers have one of the best goal songs in the league. The whole crowd gets into it. Minnesota also has a really good goal celebration.

If you notice on the big screen at games, that when they score and play the song the words "GooooOOOOOOooooaaal" are displayed...with the capital Os to emphasis the change in tone. But it could be both to be honest...

Yea on the scoreboard it prompts us to say goooaaaalll.... I used to go oooooooo but the past few years ive been going gooo--aaaa aaallll. It is an awesome goal song, however Calgary has the best horn/music/celebration in the league. Shot Down in Flames by ACDC is played when the Flames score. Awesome.

The official recording is not the one they use, There is definatly no "Lets Go Rangers" in the middle. Also, the beginning is much different, there are no sirens in the current one..

For the record, it definatly is Goo-oo-oo-aal

That recording on Rangers greatest hits was what they used when they first came out with the song in 1995. Sirens and all.

Correct the one on the greatest hits is the original. I've been looking for the current one everwhere and I think the only person that has the current one is ray castoldi. I wonder if i emailed him or something he'd send it to me. I doubt it but it might be worth a try.

Speaking of "songs", what's the jig that's whistled before the "Potvin Sucks!" chant?

I don't remember hearing the pre-emptive whistle when I was sitting in the front of the 306 last year, but I could definitely hear it at the Sens game sitting in the last row of 215.
