Thanks for the list. Very good groupings. Hate to nitpick but it Kolzig really a top tier goalie anymore? IMO Kipper's in a league of his own among this group. Not that he'll actually hit the market.

Teams better get to work locking those guys up.

theres only a certain amount of teams that will be able to target RFA's based on cap situations and those teams having their own picks from 1-3 rounds in 2009 (and this will change drastically also once teams start selling out their picks at the trade deadline). theres no doubt most of those guys will be blocked up anyhow. i wouldnt doubt all of them being locked up throughout the season.

Maybe not top tier but hes pretty good. I would love to see what he could do on a good team but thatll never happen. Hes a cap for his career.

Man, the sharks are probably gonna get K-Lowned on one of their RFA's. Crazy that they actually went a year ahead and signed Milan Michalek to that contract. I think the only other player to do that a year early was Crosby.

Are you serious? I was told last summer's UFAs sucked and that my favourite team should save cap space for this off season. Cause stars like Thornton, Marleau, and Heatley would be available.

One interesting case might be Montoya. If the Rangers aren't able to trade him, a team like Phoenix could offer him a big ~$2.2M contract and only give up a 2nd if the Rangers don't match.

Also, I think there will be many players set to be UFAs right now that don't re-sign with their current clubs (Huet, Bryzgalov, Hossa, Huselius for example).

So does www.nhlscap.com - in fact, it has a MUCH more complete list.

I've had those lists up for well over 2 months now, and people still want to put together lists as if nothing exists.

Sometimes, I wonder why I even bother ...

Personally I'd say ohlund is a top tier dman although a nucks fan said he's not a ufa this year so the point is moot and I'd possibly put boyle in the 2 tier cause he's not too good defensivley. Why mention theodore he won't be signed unless its by a team that wants to tank the season. The cupboard sure will be bare by the time free agent season starts

nhlscap.com - best site, but I personally don't like it's format that much (arrange by position please, and leave the many prospects at the bottom away from the starting roster)

nhlnumbers.com gives a more rough idea for contracts and next year status, but has errors in info, but is easier to read IMO.

Did you .... see the page where the free agents are listed by position?

http://www.nhlscap.com/2008fa_position.htm

Yeah ... I could throw out all the prospects - but then it wouldn't really be a list of all the free agents, would it? After the likely obvious guys, which ones get included and which ones get excluded? That is why I have all of them listed.

Here's something I made a couple days ago to keep up with the UFA's.

Yes, I know some guys in the 1st tier section aren't 1st Tier guys but here is the criteria

1st Tier-When adding point total and plus minus together it must equal 55 and over to be considered first tier
2nd Tier-When adding point total and plus minus together the range must be 35-54. Fedotenko exemption.

*All stats are based off 2006-2007 season
*Age is how old they will be entering the 2008 season
