Defence Q

so when i get unlucky enough to have to play defence (I'm terrible at it) I have this Q: if almost everyone except for me and the other D (we're on the blue line), is in the attacking zone, and except for my opposing winger who has gone as far back as behind the red line, should I fall back to beside him, behind him, slightly in front of him, not move much farther at all?

Any other tips for defence?! Lol I hate it when I forget I'm a D and behave like a winger.

move back to get yourself closer to him, Id say your safest bet is to make sure your between him and your net, but being between him and the puck is not that bad either.

Like the above person said, get between him and the net....if you're gonna try to get between him and the puck, then you better not miss the puck when it comes It's pretty much the same in all situations when your playing D, just keep things outside and make sure your between him and the net and apply pressure.

You get between him and the puck and all his teammate has to do is bank it off the boards and then you are screwed.Stay between him and the net is your best bet.

If you know how to play it, you wont get screwed on a pass off the boards.

Usually ppl are taught to do it high off the glass cause it's harder to stop...so if they do that, you're screwed then

yeah I did get screwed from passes off the boards.

I just felt if I fell back behind him, I'd be VERY far away from the actual game situation because the winger was already far down, waiting for the pass....ie. I'd say taking advantage of knowing i'm not a defence player

I dont have to worry about glass because....we don't have any. Just boards.
