They're going to play hard, no doubt, but who do the Habs have in their lineup that will drop the gloves?

Is Gagne playing tonight?

To get Lupul on the top line you'd have to mess with the Richards line. Hartnell seemed to work well with Richards in the preseason (although I'd argue that anyone would), so I wouldn't have a problem messing with the lines.

nobody

the habs dont have a "fighter".

i mean there's a couple guys who *could* drop the gloves, but they're not 4th liners (outside Kostopoulos). They're be Komisarek, but he's much more valuable on the ice then in the box, so he has been expressively told in the past to not drop the gloves.

Btw, for the guy who mentioned that the PP will probably drop, i doubt it. As long as Markov is in the lineup, our PP will remain constant (just like it did last year).

We're still horrid 5 on 5 so you dont have to worry about that.

Just stay out of the box and huh...yeah. Go habs! ahem.

Gl to you guys tonight, i have a mega Maya assignment due for class tomorrow and this is going to be really hard to finish it.

So in a sense, im kinda hoping the habs (or...huh the Flyers) blow you guys out of the water in the first period so that i can concentrate on my school work

Habs fans are working themselves into a righteous frenzy against Briere.

Honestly, Leaf Nation is big enough that I can understand some of their outcry and the length it goes on for. But MTL fans have been *****ing about Briere forever even though no one outside of Montreal remotely cares.

Their team's a strong team too. Not like they're doing much worse without Briere.

Hehehe, my memory was foggy on this one, but didn't they offer him .5M more per year (admittedly 1 less year).

I wait in rabid anticipation for the day when we finally let Downie loose on the Leafs, Habs, and Sens, the crying is going to go on for the next 15 years (I'm not kidding).

Who has been crying? Certainly not the Montreal fanbase. The M-E-D-I-A is making a big deal out of this, while the fans don't even care. You guys need to understand that the media does not equal the fans. Man, some hab fans gave you the link to the RDS article in the thread that says "Montreal VS. Brière", which is hilarious.

Stop complaining about the fans when it's OBVIOUS that it's the media who's talking about Brière.

The injuries/suspensions that we have leave me with little hope. Hopefully I'm wrong.

While I agree with you I feel like its for very, very different reasons. I'm gonna guess it's got something to do with points.

and i don't see why not throw upshall with briere, even if just for a couple shifts. I think it'd be good for him.

Eh, I was referring specifically to one hysterical fan who posted on the first page of that thread. Anyways, I don't blame Briere for not going there at all, can't believe some of the idiots in your media (not that it's your fault, but every time I read something about the Canadiens, I feel like Briere inevitably comes into it).

Leaf nation is easier bigger than the Habs fanbase.. There's a reason that they call it Leafs nation.

Ugh. Can we all sustain from calling any sports team's fan base a nation?

If Briere scores 3 (or even 2) and esp if we win, the Montreal fans will go nuts. The ones that are mostly pissed are pissed because he's a francophone that 'dissed' the franchise. I think it's hilarious.

Somewhere around 7M, actually (im probably mistaken, as i think it was even more then that).

90% of habs fans know that Briere chose Philly because:

a) he believed they were the better team
b) he had friends there

we also think that he couldnt handle the pressure in montreal but there's also some guys say that Briere has never wanted to play for the habs (even while he was a Sabre).

They only call it Leaf nation in ONTARIO. That whole nation thing is a joke outside. But then again, i would expect nothing less from a Leafs fan. Trying to find a bright spot in the dark dark ages that are forthcoming.

Er, I hate the Leafs...

I actually like the Habs (and their players) a lot better, but I think Toronto does have a larger fanbase, but anyways, that discussion is completely irrelevant.

What is relevant is that the Flyers should be trading for Andrei Markov immediately.
