Thank you Thashers! Now we gain even more distance from Tampa Bay!
Kovalchuk is a monster
As a Panther fan, I concur on beating Tampa, lol. But more so, hot damn Kovalchuk. That's back to back hat tricks? Most impressive. I look forward to next week's meeting.

Finally this long ass road trip is done, 4-3 on the road couldn't ask for more. I thought we would be much worse but look we have all season were 5-9 thats nothing, way to go Thrashers!!
I'm thinking of swapping him for Iginla in my pool, but I don't want to waste a trade yet (only have 3 all year). I think I'll give him another month...
The scary thing is, Kovy hasnt even hit his prime yet. Give him a decent center and watch the magic. Captain Kovy next season? I hope he stays a Thrasher until the end of his career.

We had a decent center. Marc Savard. Although, I suppose it's a great thing that we don't have his stupid penalties anymore
Ilya is King. And Hossa will come back as we saw today. But looks like Kozlov is happy with his son at the tennis court when sun is shining. Maybe he will come back when weather is getting worse
And Holik, who would pay him what he is getting. Ok, I am saying this not knowing what happens in the dressing room but I doubt he is not worth of all of this money but I hope he will show that I am wrong.
At this point of the season Oscar goes to ... Ilya. Henrik does have too good guys skating and helping with him.
The thing to look forward to the coming offseason is that we have many players with contracts coming off the books. Hossa, Holik, Rucchin, Dupuis (Why did we only re-sign him for one year? Should've been more), Boulton, McCarthy, and Hedberg are all UFAs at the end of this season. Sterling, Popovic and Lehtonen are the only RFA's. We currently have about $23.9M invested in 11 players for next season. If Hossa is re-signed, he'll end up with a raise. You can also expect raises for Lehtonen and Popovic, with a possibility of Sterling depending on if the new coach decides to use him.
