Dude this winter has been awful. Texas weather is hands down the worst and I love the state. Warm winter just sucks.

I always thought shinny was knee hockey... o.o

That's what we always call it.

Its just called mini-sticks in my town, shinny makes more sense as a name for it, but hey, why change now? Haha

Heh, not enough people down here for pickup games like that. I really wish there was, though.

I'm guessing playing some fun, non-committal hockey involves renting ice at the closest rink? Seems like a whole ordeal, not to mention finding people to do it with...

What? I've never even played a pickup game. The nearest rink is ~30 minutes away, so I almost never get to skate. Only time I do is for organized, league games. Can't wait till college comes and I can skate as much as I want.

Me too! Hahaha.

Are you playing for the school team? Intramurals? Or just that you get free access to all the ice time you can handle?

All the rinks in the metroplex have designated pick up games. Usually get quite a few people, actually

Oh, lol. Well, it's Texas A&M (I hope) so it's a club team only. I'll still have to pay, but they're not a shabby team (to me, to you it's probably garbage ). I doubt I'll make it as a freshman, so I'll just skate as much I can, and keep it up once I do.

You play any kind of organized hockey?

Nice! Ive got loads of respect for anyone thats a student/athlete. (I don't judge that way, I'm not that good lol). That's good, just gotta learn and stick with it.

Yeah I played house hockey for 11 years, my hockey "career" highlight was playing a Mexican selects team (it's not reeeaally lying to say it was international hockey since it was one of the best teams they could put together ). I'm taking a year off before college so I have no time for hockey sadly, I'll probably do intramurals at Niagara College next year. That and 95% of my income goes towards my bike

lol, yea.

Damn, 11 years? All I'll ever play is house hockey, too. but my HS team has some of the best non-pros in the state, so that's pretty cool. LOL, yea, we played a team from Laredo once, and beat them 24-0. Even once we were told to stop scoring by the coaches and refs, even our clears and dump-ins found a way in the net. That sucks, but I hope you enjoy it! Bike? What kind/for?

Yup, 11 great ones. Thats sick, learn from the best: be the best. Haha thats too legit. I threw a tryout once to play 'C' level, I got over 150 assists that year in 28 games, we were almost kicked out of a few tourneys CBR125R/CBR250R, I'm a national level sportbike racer, its expensive

Ahahaha. Yea, a lot of people I know say the same thing about every sport.

Heh, I personally don't mind, especially considering how quiet this board can get sometimes.
