Not to demean Henrik, because he's a top 5 (at worst) goalie in the league, but Valiquette played with Luongo and DiPietro in the Islanders system when they were not nearly close to developed.

So that was a weird quote to me.

Oh, I agree. Don't get me wrong - Henrik is an outstanding goaltender. I don't think anyone will disagree with that.

But Valiquette is kidding himself if he's comparing 2007 Henrik to 1999 Luongo or 2000-2001 DiPietro. It's not even close - not even by a longshot.

Those two were clearly better.

Let Valiquette play on saturday against Toronto, I want the best team available against divsion rivals, which are the most crucial games.

I don't think this is good. Sure Henrik hasn't showed any signs of fatigue yet and still playing incredible, but what about later in the season? I don't want him burnt out for the playoff stretch as well as the playoffs. I think we saw this in Shanny last year, how he played so much at the beginning than began to die down at the end (yes that might have had to do with some injuries, but still). The Rangers should be playing Vally some more because Henrik DOES need some sort of rest.

If Valiquette plays on Saturday,Henrik would have nearly 1 week off. After Saturday, the Rangers have 3 days off before another 3 road games in 4 nights stretch-Debbies,Philly and Pitts

According to Barry Melrose, the Rangers better bring their own private police force on Wednesday to Newark

I wonder who its going to be in for the Pens, MAF or Sabourin? MAF seems to have some competition for that #1 job. At least IMO.

Whoever it is, you can bet he will stop about 45 shots and allow one goal

if we are above 500 , there is no need to be playing any starting goalie on back to back nights.

Sabourin played tonight against Philly (and lost), so I'm guessing we'll see MAF tomorrow.

It's a back to back game so you are correct.

i think valley should get in a game this week just to prevent lundqvist from burning out. i really don't think he will but it wouldn't hurt to let valley play a game. he's a decent goaltender. played great in hartford, so i would hope he'll do great up there.

We always get MAF, and he always plays his best game vs us. With them coming off a loss tonight I expect the entire team to come out fired up. Plus we know how much Crosby loves playing at MSG from him interviews so it's going to be a tough game all around.

It looks like King Henrik will rest tomorrow Vs the Leafs. In this article he hint´s he starting to feel a little bit tired. He says "i´m pretty tired right now.. I normally have problem fallin a sleep after a game, but today it will be no problem,, We will talk about the game on Sat tomorrow friday, but i would enjoy a day of,,, "

Good idea. I think he gets a 5 day rest if he doesn't start on Saturday, which should probably be enough to cover the next 2 months for him

See that move is weird to me. Why not sit Hank last night, instead of playing an untested goalie in a difficult building?

Maybe because the fans at MSG prefer to see Henrik and given how heat the fans can give the team sometimes, Renney and Hank wanted to keep them happy.

Might as well start Vally on the road.

because Divisional games are more important. If we lose to Toronto, it's not nearly as significant if we lose to the Pens. The Pens had the same record going in to last night's game. If we played Vali last night and lost, not only would we be two points lower than we are now, but the Pens would be two points higher.

Bingo. Exactly my logic as well (post #31). Division games > Conference games > Western games. McCabe will score for us anyway.

I really don't see Lundy sitting tomorrow night. They have three dyas off until the Devils, so rest won't be a problem. My guess is he sits against Philly in Philly on Thursday.
