Yeah, I know, I have a weird obsession with Finnigan.

Maybe our Calder should go to the best rookie GM.

I nominate Doc

These guys have never been selected before:

Ivan Tregubov
Jozef Golonka
Bernie Morris
Allan "Scotty" Davidson
Billy Boucher
Mike Murphy
Lloyd Cook
Mike Milbury
Yuri Fedorov
Jan Starsi, coach
Chris Nilan
Alexander Almetov
Jacques Martin, coach

Of course there are a bunch of guys only selected in the minor league draft that have made it to the main draft for the first time.

Get your votes to me by noon eastern Sunday.

Anyone want to do writeups for any of the series?

I would be willing to help out. Might not someone from the outside, but I am here if you'd like to send a couple my way once the results are in.

Could you do a quick post on all of the matchups so we're not having to constantly flip back and forth between the ATD threads to make our submissions?

Since I have the bye, will I be playing the winner of a specific series, or will my opponent depend on which teams move on?

Your opponent is dependent on which opponent moves on. If Toronto upsets New Jersey, you'll face Toronto.

If I were you, though, I'd expect to face the Rangers or the Flon, because that will likely be the lowest remaining seed in your division. I don't think Toronto and/or Dallas will pull off an upset.

Sent my votes in last night. Four or five really hard series to call. NY Rangers/Flon. Tough call. NY Raiders/Portage. Tough call. Had a really hard time with Ottawa/Dubai. And I don't know if we'll ever see a better 2 vs. 7 match-up than Nanaimo vs. Edmonton. (Maybe Nalyd vs. Spit in the previous draft). Looking forward to the results.

Just in case people need a reminder. Send me your votes for the first round series by Sunday noon eastern. Include the winner, in how many games (best of 7), and your 3 stars for the series.

The number of games and 3 stars are tie-breakers, so they are required.

Again a call out to anybody wanting to do a write-up for a series or more.

I can do only 1 write-up. As long as it's not due for next monday (well, in 4 days), I can. I know that my last stint as a writer was a total debacle, but my schedule is much less ridiculous by now.

I'll do a write up. I'd like either Edmonton-Nanaimo or New York-Portage...those are my favorite series'. I have Tuesday off so I'll be able to have the whole series written up by Tuesday afternoon if the participants are okay with that.

Am I allowed to make some radical lineup changes, in a last ditch effort to win my series?

You sure are. Just post it on the match up thread. I think you can make changes right up until the last day of voting.

Just to be sure (and it's already been said pretty clearly, but I'm fairly stupid): say, JFF is doing the series for, oh, I dunno, the Raiders and Portage. I still send my VOTES to BM67??
