The powerplay doesn't need help. It's been good of late. The second PP needs a playmaker, a shooter, and Markov. Slaney doesn't fill any need.

Wouldn't hurt to have another Newfoundlander on the team
Slaney is a great AHL defenceman, but I believe he is past his prime. It's sad, cause he could have been a good one.

I think Karl Dykhuis is 'our' John Slaney.

It's like others have said.....we have Markov and Slaney doesn't fill a need. Besides, we have Hainsey and Beauchemin in the AHL being groomed for the NHL to fill the role of offensive (and defensively-responsible) defensemen.

Great trivia question, has there ever been 3 on a team? 4? 5? I'm convinced that the more Newfoundlanders on the team, the better. Of course Ribs and Theo would get sick of hearing Great Big Sea on the stereo after practice.

Sorry but how stupid is that.....

Jon Slaney is an AHLer that's it... Was never a factor in the nhl, I don't even think he would be able to make the Bulldogs teams.. come on Jon Slaney...

John Slaney and Curtis Murphy are the 2 best AHL d-mans. Sorry, but he'd be our best on the Bulldogs.
