The Thrashers are finally back at home after a 7 game road trip in which they went 4-3. Who could of asked for more?

The Thrashers return to Phillips Arena

Thrashers 5-9 vs Capitals 5-9

Last game Thrashers played the Capitals was opening night 3-1 loss

Will Kovalchuk get another Hat trick?

I expect that Kovy and Hossa will be together again, with White as their center. During, the game I'd like to see a rotation of between Little and White, because Hossa and Kovy will likely clock plenty of ice time.

With a win, the Thrashers might assume the role of a coach killer. Glenn Hanlon will probably be fired soon, if the Caps don't turn things around. Being shot out by the Hurricanes ,last night, certainly didn't crease his odds.

BTW, Does Alexander Semin return to the lineup?
---
I'd say that the Thrashers win 5-3!

Maybe, Wash. will hire Bob (like their fans WANTED when we fired him), taking away our obligation. If so, hopefully he will do well and be happy.
Still, we beat them whenever we face one another.

I say Thrashers pull it off and the two points catapults us past Caps and Tampa into third in the division just in time to drop Florida on Friday and move into Second. From the basement to second place in one week, not bad, eh? We could theoretically gain some ground on the Canes on Saturday too, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Last night's loss was abysmall, but the Caps will be mad and they always play us well. Still, the Thrashers have so much momentum coming off the road trip and I'm sure they're going to do their best to get Blueland back behind them.

4-3. Thrashers prevail. Kovy has a goal and an assist, and it's Hossa that lights the lamp all night with two goals. The other goal will come from the defense, though I fall short of predicting its author.

No mention of baby jesus and two posts in the standings thread after our last win = LOSS.

Good to see that Cap fans aren't quite as confident now as the last time we played them. Then, they were playoff bound and we were doomed to the fate of their last few seasons. Was even a thread wondering "if" they should let us steal their assistant coach, now they are wondering if Hartley would be a good fit for them.

Semin, Poti, and Clark all out for the Caps more than likely going to be Brent Johnson in net for us......Honestly unless Ovie does somthing miraculous it'll be ugly for me as a caps fan im kinda glad the game isnt on TV.
Chris Bourque makes his NHL debut tonight as well!

Good luck thrash fans!

The wheels have just completely fallen off here in Washington and I think they rolled right to Atl

Johnson usually plays lights out against us and you can be guaranteed that some unexpected player on the caps will score two goals. Randy Robitaille, Shane O' Brien etc.

Well with Half of Washingtons line-up out they still have Nylander who always seems to score everytime he plays the Thrashers, not this time!

Not a must tonight win but after the BIG come-from-behind-win at Bolts house, it would be such a waste to lose the momentum. Blueland must now become a place where all opponents expect to likely lose.

The Thrashers seem to have been playing better since I've been staying out of the GDTs, so I'll refrain from making a prediction. I have to post in this one because Zach from our 8U inline (no ice on the southside) tournament team is the youth player of the game. WOOT! Here's to Zach being a good luck charm, and make some noise for the boy when he hits the ice would ya!

Not generating offese .... keep taking stupid penalties .... having trouble clearing the zone

Sounds like it's gonna be one of those nights where they leave Pavelec out to dry. Luckily, it sounds like he's playing amazing.

The Caps arms must be tired from all that shooting.

Falling right into our trap

The Caps D has been in turmoil recently...Ilya and company will have plenty of chances in the next 2 periods.

No kidding. At least they don't scream in this one like with Hossa's commercial.

I told you we were tiring them out.

I'd like to see that 4th line finally get a little reward for their hard work.
