GDT 11/6: Rangers @ Islanders, 7pm

Some questions for tonight:
In net - Lundqvist or Valiquette?
Defense - Malik back in?

UPDATE 5:19pm: LUNDQVIST IN GOAL
UPDATE 5:20pm: MALIK STILL OUT

TIME TO GET THEIR FIRST WIN ON THE ROAD!

LETS GO RANGERS!!!

Must keep the winning streak alive. I wonder if Lundy gets a rest. I wouldn't sit him just yet, he's so HOT right now!!!

LET'S GO RANGERS'!

Do you want to rest him against the Islanders or Pittsburgh? I wouldn't rest him against the Leafs for the Hall of Fame Game. That's a must-win.

...because I will be there.

Tough decision to be made by the Coach. Giving Lundy a rest today makes perfect sense, besides one thing - how often do we see a goalie given a night off after a shutout? I say ride Henke till the next back-to-back (the Phi game next week).

IMO the actual decision is for Henke to make.

Should be another fun Isles Rangers game. Hopefully the Refs let the teams decide the game. I'll call for an Isles win 4-2. Enjoy the game.

bare in mind Di Pietor might not start tonight...

i'd base resting Henrik on that. If Di Pietro dresses then you do the same, match strength for strength. If Dubie goes i go with Valliquette.

This team is string enough to win without Henrik im convinced of it... Henrik has been MVP material so far but to their credit the defence have been stelalr too, its not all the goalie. they're good enough to have Vally back there...

I want a breakout of like 7 unanswered goals tonight. It's been a long time since watching a Ranger/Isles game where my heart rate doesn't triple. Ah, who am I kidding...

in all honesty i'd be delighted with any kind of win, or even a point... tonight should be about momentum - keep the run going...

any breakout offensively tonight will be a great bonus.

Agreed. Totally slipped my mind that DPee might not play tonight. In this case, yes, throw Vally against Dublesheewitz (sp?)

However Henke sounded yesterday after the game like he was ready to go tonite.

I guess we will see.

And i think Moore is still with the team.

True.

Well, this is a predicament, IMO. Do we ride the hot goalie, or do we "force" him to sit this one out?

Any player can be burnt, easily. the coaching staff must be smart about this. In particular when it has to do with the team's MVP.

I'm pretty sure DiPietro is going to play tonight. He had a full practice yesterday with no problems. He did have blurred vision when he 1st got hit but since then it has cleared up.

DP is starting to remind me a little of Mike Richter at the end of his career. He wasn’t so much injury prone as he was freak incident prone. I'll predict a loss...hopefully not a blow out. I still think the relentlessness of the Islanders will overcome the Rangers stingy defense.

I think the Islanders are gonna come out hard here as always, we're not gonna walk all over them, 4 wins in a row off like 2 shutouts. Big homestand for us.

Another VS telecast

Hopefully DP isn't quite ready yet, and no I think Jags is still gonna play so no Moore.

I know, cmon...

Versus sucks. Did anyone notice when they announced the starters and put up their numbers they had a Lundqvists profile up but it was with a picture of Cam Ward? They suck. How do you get that wrong?

Not to mention a ton of other little mistakes.

Anyway. I think Hank will play again. 4-0 in their last 4 and they want to keep this streak rolling.

We are all STILL waiting for this team to break out. Sooner or later right? They have too much fire power to be scoring an average of 1.71 GPG!! Its only a matter of time!!

Well the time is now! 6-2 Rangers.

an excellent time.

i assume both teams will start the 1st choice goalies...even @ 80% DP will start so i'd go with Hank.

Rangers 5-2 tonight...

Jagr 2, Drury 1, Staal's 1st and Dubinsky's 1st...

i'd love to see that happen!!!

I noticed that but I couldn't tell it was a picture of Cam Ward. I just knew it wasn't Lundvist. That was pretty bad.

Some things about last night that you want to see again...

Dubinsky, the kid's getting better every single night and Jagr has stepped up his game these past few nights. He's really seemed to take a liking to the kid. Dan

Girardi, impresses over and over again. That pass last night to set up Jags was great.

Staal, I'm starting to love the way this kid plays. If he keeps imrpoving at this right he's going to be really, really good.

Prucha, say what you want about this guy, but nobody plays harder than he does. He's always getting tossed around the ice like a rag doll and he still finds a way to make plays every night. I know the goals haven't come yet but who have they come for? Prucha is a player.

Hossa, I've felt he's played pretty well the past few nights. Hopefully he can keep it going.

Lundqvist, what can you even say?

Last night was an excellent hockey game for this team. Fun to watch, and a great performance. Let's hope tonight is a replica.

Any word yet on who is going to start in net? Not sure if DP goes for the NYI tonight. If it was up to him, I am sure he would want to play, but just not sure how the eye is doing right now. If I am the Rag$, I keep playing Henrik. Why sit him in the streak he is in right now. See what happens tonight and then he has a day to rest, correct? Next game is on Thursday against the Pens? Tough call either way. Maybe sit him against the Pens. Who knows. Hopefully, it will be another tight game. I know I lose at least 5 years off my life everytime these two teams play.
