I realy don't see any other way to do this, unless you get rid of PP for Nigel, this is how it must be.
sitting the 2nd leading scorer when this team is having trouble in that category... brilliant

Neither Gomez nor Roszival are being sat, as per that suggestion.

something i found even more interesting....

Ryan Hollweg, LW 20 0 1 1 -4
Blair Betts, C 20 0 0 0 -4
Colton Orr, RW 20 0 0 0 -6

pretty nice stats for people who should be starting every game according to some people....

Personally, if everybody is healthy, I'm all for a rotation of about 4 players (Hossa, Cally, Hollweg and, to a lesser extent, Orr) for the wing spots of the 4th line depending on the opposition, slumps, hot streaks, etc.(Betts stays because of his PK and FO ability at C)..But a thought about the 4th line

Regarding the numbers of HBO, gotta agree I wish they could provide some offense. OTOH, that ain't what they are being used for...Renney has been using them for defense, energy, some hitting, and resting the other 3 lines.. In additon, quite a few of those "minuses" have been resulting when matched up against other teams top lines (see Crosby the other night). All in all, they have done a fine job defernsively, but just can't score. However, they do allow the other lines to be more free to concentrate on scoring--but they just haven't benn succesful....Still if Cally and Hossa on the 4th line provides just as much defense (probably) and physicality (doubtful) as the current line and chip in a little more offense, Have no problem with going that way..

i really think since cally has been hurt people are forgetting what he provided to this team and how effective he was in suttle way and showedto have a pretty nice developing touch with scoring.... now hes just in a rotation with the likes of hollweg orr and hossa? why not just send him down then so he can continue to develop his scoring touch instead of treating him in a way to just rot into a 4th liner in a rotation with some borderline players

I like Cally but, really, except for two 2-goal games in blow outs he has produced basically zilch over 30 games or so at the NHL level. That being said, I like his tenacity/guts and know he has far more offensive potential then the likes of Holly/Orr/Hossa..But still not enough where RIGHT NOW I think he should be guaranteed a top 12 spot right on a team that is going so well..(when all are healthy)..And as the 4th line (at least 2/3rd of it) is getting close to 10 mins a night, it, the ice time is not chopped liver..

I really like what Callahan brings to this team, and will continue to bring to this team for years to come, I hope. But, the team is clicking pretty nicely wight now and he may have to re-earn his ice time. I think he'll get a spot after his theoretical conditioning assignment, but how much ice time he gets and who he takes it from will be interesting to watch.

hence why i said lt him go back to hartford and play top line minutes to continue to develop his scoring and not play 4th line with betts ect....

I wanna thank "Islanders4life39" for casting his vote for Avery.

also the Kings/Ducks fans who think Jagr should.

Given how the recent games have been played with a focus on hockey (even the Flyers, Isles, Penns, etc.), the more I watch Orr, the more utterly worthless I think he is...Basically, he does NOTHING,....One of he or Hossa should sit when the first healthy body comes back..Then Both....Keep Orr around for the 5-6 games where he MIGHT be needed......

Of course, that would be by pick...Renny, OTOH, will probably sit Holly and one of Prucha/Dawes/Cally..

Dawes down to Hartford

/half thread

Now the question is will Hossa sit or be put on the 4th line? That is unless Greg Moore comes out and starts lighting s*** up.

Hossa, Hossa, Hossa and now it looks like Dawes would be the other one sitting.
