Plekanec sent back to Hamilton

From RDS.ca (c):

Quote:

Translation (quote from myself, lol):
Quote:
Montreal Canadien's GM Bob Gainey announced thursday that forward Tomas Plekanec was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Plekanec, recalled december 31st, played in two matches with the Canadiens, without getting on the scoreboard.

The 21 years old forward scored 11 goals and recorded 16 assists for a total of 27 points (11-16-27) in 37 matches with the Hamilton Bulldogs. He shows a +10 differential and has gathered 46 penalty minutes.
The editting was to add the translation.

Well... if he isn't going to get any ice time with the big club I guess it's good thing but given the fact that the Dogs play only one game in the next ten days it seems pretty stupid to me. He could have used some trainings with the big club, don't he?

Anyways, Hamilton needed a center to play with Perezhogin now that Svitov is gone. Maybe it's better for Perezhogin's development too..

Yeah, I don't think it's a good news but not a bad one either; if Gainey felt Plekanec was not going to play the following matches, it's better to send him down, but at the same time I would've liked to see more from Tomas and see him get some experience, which is why I can't say it's that much of a good news.

What the heck are you talking about? Some Euros can be called at some extent, but there's no way Plekanec is a softy. The guy brings a lot more energy than a guy like Dackell. In fact, he has brought energy in both games he played, despite playing only 5-10 mins. Give the guy credit, he showed some heart and has done a good job on forechecking.

Darn I thought you were banned. My bad.

Soft? Go tell that to Matvichuk

Small? 200lbs

Oh do I feel stupid trying to convert the racists, but I guess it's the missionary inside of me talking (or the beer).

I thought it was a good idea to send him down when I first heard it but you bring up a good point. Hamilton definately don't need Plekanec if they're only playing one game in the next ten days. It's probably better for him to get practice time with the big club.

The Bulldogs have 3 games in the next 10 days.

And I think it's a good move. Obviously he didn't get icetime up at the big club, and he will have a better developement down in Hamiliton than in the stands during Canadiens games. He had a little taste of what it's like up there. And don't worry, he'll get another chance.

Finally, some help on forward. With Svitov gone, the team was looking somewhat bare, but with Plekanec back, the first line should be in good hands. And saying Plekanec is soft is outright stupid, he's one of the grittiest guys on the Dogs, and at his height, that's not an easy thing to accomplish. I imagine him and Balej will be back together, with probably Hossa on the other wing. For the second line they'll probably try something like Somervuori (sp) - Higgins - Perezhogin, which makes for a couple good units.

They do. The Dogs don't play till Saturday, then they are off till Friday the 23rd. 1 game over the next 9 days or so, then they play two games over the weekend, and finish with 4 games the last week of this month.

I assume they sent down Pleks today, cause Jarvis had given the team off till today, when they would resume practice getting ready for the River Rats game saturday night. (they had off since sunday) So I guess BG sent him down to join the team at practice.

Did someone mention the Red Wings? They're one of the smallest teams in the NHL.

Through my many years of parenting, I've always found that denying the attention that is craved by a child acting out usually works. Afterwards you can have a rational discussion. If that doesn't work, I yell, scream and break their toys.

I'd rather do that as a preventive mesure. Where and what are pup's toys so we can break 'em and move on with our lives?

It's this kind of thinking that allows me to sleep easy knowing our Sacred Preztel is in good hands.

Our preztel is still alright, isn't it??????
