I take it back

I was doubtful of Gomez, but what I have seen over the past couple of games - he might be possibly the best Ranger player, not wearing goalie pads.

impressive passing, skating. well done Gomer!

He has been excellent lately. Overpaid, sure, but that's what the market demanded. I'm glad to have him.

I'm not going back on my personal opinion because I knew this was the type of player he was. Just know that he's still going to drive all of us crazy by being our new Michael Nylander for the next 7 years. He's playing great, but MAN I just wish he would shoot once in a while. It's not like he has an awful shot. Oh well though, I understand his game is what it is and when things are clicking like this it's a joy to watch.

I think Fletch made a great point the other day regarding Gomez's salary. While he is one of the highest players on the team (maybe the highest) he is second in scoring and producing. And that is what you expect from your high priced player.

Nice to see Scotty getting his groove on. To me, with big time free agents, it's less about the first year, or realyl first half, and how they adapt and grow. I think he will end up being a major force for us.

gomez will not score the goals nylander will. I also think Nylander's touch in S/O was adn will be crucial.

but if prucha, dawes, avery, shanahan, tuytin, rozi etc start scoring along Gomer than it is a huge bonus.

Took him time to catch his stride but he found it. He's one of the reasons why you all have been winning so much lately.

I'm still not loving him...hard not to see the Devils jersey on him. But I'm sure I'll come around at some point. He's definitely playing well though.

So do I. I wasnt for Gomez and was upset with his play. His game has picked up tremendously. is he worth 7-10Mill per seaon ,NO. But was he a good addition to this team, YES.

Now Itnice cause he is helping everyone else produce being the play maker he is. Shannahan, Avery, defenseman etc...

the other thing is Jagr, is not looking to happy with out Nylander and is not producing like i iebelieve he would be with Nylander. He does have Dubi and Straka ( on his way back ) who Im sure he will click with, Dubinsky im talking about. cause Jagr and Straka already have that bond.

So lets hope Jagr and Drury both pick there games up.Especially Drury. And ifJagr could start popping in some goals then it will be huge for NYR.

Not that Jagr isnt playing good he is producing, but in time the goals will start coming.

the only Ranger of recent history I never warmed up to was Fleury.
I couldn't stand his antics, thought it was so bush league. Now of course his problems became public and I understand the reasons why.

Gomez has to fully fill to the void Nylander has left behind which IMO is considerable, actually he has to exceed Nylander's value.

I am still not sure it was the right move. But I will support Gomez fully now that he is
a Ranger

Plus he is very defensively aware. Watch how he is always deep in the defensive zone, many times behind the net, helping the dmen. It is no accident that with Gomez and Drury our forwards have more of a defensive awareness to help Henke keep down the goal against average

if this defensive awareness and discipline rubs off on the rest of the forward that can only be a good thing. no doubt its not just lundy and Malik's good work making us top of the goals against....
