I for sure wouldn't want Lindros now. However next year when we've lost Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Reichel and possibly Antropov to a trade, we could use a guy like Lindros. I'm not convinced that he's happy in New York. I think his game would improve in a Leaf jersey. I also think he'd enjoy the role as a 2nd line centre in Toronto.
If they are going to pick up Lindros, they need to do it this season, this season is when they need him. They have the chance to win the cup now, Lindros (while not the same Lindros he was before) can help them do that. He'd be ten times more valuable to them going into the playoffs this year then as part of a team with a group of aging fowards, a young defensive core and goalie.
I think some have and some havn't you just have to except that level of stupidity. I would not offer him a huge contract, he actually would probably play here for peanuts if he doesn't stay in New York.
