GDT: 11/19 NY Islanders @ New York Rangers

Im glad this game is on MSG and not VS

Avery will be huge in this game. Lets hope we play well right from the first drop of the puck and not like last time we played the Islanders. Losing in the 3rd. I say Rangers win 5-3.

Goals by Avery Prucha Staal Drury and Gomez.

early GDT, but its a big game imo, another statement game against the fishes who have OWNED us, that doesn't happen in our house. I think Avery and DRURY, yes DRURY come up big in this game, same as you JOrts

I'd love like a 7-0, 8-2 kind of W, just an embarassment

My two cents:
Not liking a guy for whatever reason is fine. Hoping for injury is over the line.

Given our positive play lately, this kind of commentary is totally unnecessary.

As for the game, I'm just hoping for contributions by all and a win over the Fishsticks.

I'm loving this streak we're on, and I think adding a win over the fishes is just the way to keep it rolling.

Yes, this game is a must win, we can't go 0-3 against the Isles no matter what.

Are you kidding me? Every time I see Struds on the blueline I cringe. I like the guy as a 7th defenseman, but Malik is lightyears ahead of him defensively.

I actually prefer to see Strudwick filling in on the 4th line, he's more effective there.

i think the scary idea of malik coming back is that they will most likely put him with rozsival on the top pairing and slide staal back with mara.

Marek Malik is still bothered by the rib/back injury. It doesn't sound like Malik is close to returning

Martin Straka will have a MRI on his broken finger today. He still can't shoot the puck with much authority

Time to set things right. Hopefully Jagr stops playing by himself on the PP and actually advances the puck towards the goal. Personally I think he is sulking again because the PP is not working the way HE wants it to. Sitting on the PP at this stage would not be a bad idea, send him a message, a very plain message, if you don;t shoot you don't play the PP.

Lundqvist starts tonight.4th game in 6 nights. He hasn't really been forced to carry the Rangers in the last 3 games.Wednesday in TB.Friday in FLA.Next Sunday at home for Dallas and then they are off until next Thursday 11/29 at home for the Fishies.12/2 in Ottawa and 12/4 at MSG for Carolina. Then two days off. When does Valiquette get his next start?Maybe he gets one of road games this week.It would give Henrik 3 days off between starts.Or maybe Renney rides Henrik straight through next Sunday which would be 7 games in 12 days. The Dallas game is a day game-1pm start

The Rangers haven't played Buffalo,Montreal and Carolina.Last season, the Rangers were finished with Buffalo by the first week in December. The Rangers don't play Buffalo until 1/16

Playing the Islanders reminds me of the scene in Rocky II when Apoolo's trainer tries talking him out of the a rematch with Rocky.

"He's all wrong for you."

The Islanders are all wrong for us. Hoping for the best, but I'm expecting the worst.

Hopefully MSG will actually show this game upstate like they say they will, because the Pittsburgh game was a surprise blackout.

Why wrong? There's no time I'd rather see a difficult matchup than when team is going well like it is now.
