I agree with that, but at least the Sharks did their job tonight. If only the Coyotes woulda shown up, it would have been a perfect night. We now have to look forward to taking care of business against Chicago.

Man the desert dogs have been in an aweful slump. The Pens broke their losing streak against the yotes earlier this week. I heard a rumor that Melrose may be the Dogs next head coach. Any validity to this?

No validity to that at all, supposedly their is heat being put on ownership being surrounded by his old cronies, his former agent, I believe is the GM, so no Mulletrose is not going to be the new Yotes Coach.

Good to hear; I would miss seeing the Mullet on NHL tonight. Besides, without Barry, who would pick the Rags to win the cup every season

My wife told me she saw the rumor on espn. Barry did coach the Great One in LA, but like I said, I am glad it is a rumor.

well the score was 0-0 late in the game when I made that comment. They are out of 8th and thats all that matters.

although Im thinking Id rather have them than LA in the postseason.

Never thought I'd say this, but....GO FLAMES!!!!

I'd like the west to be like the east in that the top 8 are decided and it's now all just a matter of positioning.

interesting Tuesday night tidbits:

Dunham gave up 2 goals on 3 shots, played for 9 minutes and then was yanked tonight.

Zherdev took a penalty for diving.

Its a good time to be eyeing Sutton, he has 2 assists already in the first period against Rangers.

the crazy waiver

the waiver wire is really buzzing.,

LA put 2 players on waivers., are they making room for a big trade?
Sim to the Pens, I actually enjoyed Sim's short stay in Smashville.

Edmonton and St.Louis tied 1-1. Probably the best thing that could've happened there. We're now 7 points ahead of the Blues, 9 point ahead of the Oilers.

Dallas, I'm watching the teams behind more than the teams in front of us.

A team I watch often and watched tonight spells trouble for the Preds. The slugfest at Philly with the Sens means they are going to be fired up tomorrow. about 40 penalties in the last 2 minutes. YIKES!

San Jose lost Marco Sturm for the year with a nasty leg injury. This could potential effect the Preds because, if we are looking for a forward, San Jose might become another bidder and jack the price up. And we are slated to play them in the playoff's if the season began today.

Well, lets thank Lady Luck. The Kings lost 4-2 to the Habs. The Kings really outplayed Montreal, although Zednik gave a ton of effort for the GW goal. Kings just struggled to get it by Garon even though they had plenty of chances. LA not getting a point is the important part.

That's huge for the Preds. With LA's loss and Calgary's loss last night, this keeps us stable in 6th. The Blues did gain two on us, though we have built a mini-cushion between us and them.

My dream team to play in the playoffs would be San Jose. Without Sturm, they would be severely less potent. I just hope they can hold off Dallas, and we can hold onto the 6th spot (which will be a tall order indeed).

every day that we don't slip in the standings is one closer to surviving the hartnell and york injuries.

I just hope they get back in time to get their legs under them before the playoffs hit. Last time Hartnell missed a few games, he came back quite sluggish. I wouldn't imagine this would be any different. At the very least, they should be semi-rested for the stretch run.

Isn't this just exciting? Actually caring about other teams games almost more than your own. I love having a shot at the playoffs.

Edmonton at Chicago - Edmonton is a ways back but is yet another team that could give us trouble if we slide.

Calgary at Colorado - This one is obvious. A win by Calgary ties them with us. We've both played 68 games, but they will win the tie breaker based on wins (as of right now).

San Jose at Dallas - Go San Jose, keep Dallas behind you. This one isn't important, IMO, as far as us making the playoffs, it's important for who we play.

St. Louis at Buffalo - The Blues have a chance to come within 3 points of the Preds with no games in hand. Definitely a dangerous game as far as the Preds are concerned. Hopefully the game the night before has them slightly winded.
