I saw him play like 4 times this year in preseason and he looks good.

Big player, good skater, tries to be physical... good shot... good leader I'd say as well, he's young but he was an assistant captain for Djurgarden.

If he puts some beef on does he have a chance to be a top 4?

4 games isn't enough to judge a player.

But I really like what I saw... he played for Toronto in the exhibition vs. Farjestad and I think Jokerit, but he played for Djurgarden in that blow out game vs. Toronto. He was the only bright star on that Djurgarden team... made some great defensive plays... positionally sound and didn't take many risks.

I think I'd be happy if he turned out to become a top 4 defenseman... but I don't think he will just because of all the other young defenseman in the system.

Staffan Kronwall

Birth: 1982-09-10
Nation: Sweden
Position: D
Shoots: L
Height: 6.03
Weight: 211
Drafted: Selected 2002 by Toronto round 9 #285 overall

Staffan is the younger brother of Niklas Kronwall. While Staffan is much larger than his brother they play a somewhat similar game. Staffan is just like Niklas responsible at both ends of the ice, plays aggressive and secure in the defensive zone and at the same time is not afraid to join the rush.
Furthermore Staffan has a good passing game, work-ethics and on-ice-vision. After an impressive rookie season with Djurgården we can now expect even more from him

His height on the Euro hockeydb at 193 cm translates to about 75.9 inches, however they have his weight lower.

When he was standing beside Mats at training camp he looked bigger than him.

If Quinn is still the coach after the lockout, I could see him giving lots of opportunities to a 6'4" defender with the skill set listed above.

His swedish team suffers from several injuries on leading players, including two veteran defensemen. Staffan Kronwall has lately played alongside 32-year old centerforward Nichlas Falk, who has stepped down on defense. Staffan is however second to worst on the team regarding plus/minus with -5, Falk has +9.

Staffan is big and strong but he could/should use size even more, if he plans to make a trip to Toronto.

My thoughts exactly.

Something the Leafs are showing against the Flyers they lack on the back end.
