Think it deflected off of Kukkonen's skate too, but it was most likely going in anyway.

score sux, but that was a strong period... they controlled the puck well, got it low and worked some offense from the low slot down.

Definitely not the kind of first period we've gotten used to seeing. Nobody was going to stop that shot by Heatley.

not a bad period. A PP goal against, and a wicked shot by Heatley. We need to get better puck control going into the offensive zone, but we are at least getting some excellent chances.

Very strong period. I'm happy about that period. We just need to finish those chances off.

Anyone notice how much better the team plays in front of Niittymaki? Unlike Biron, where they'll let him handle the shots (except Kukkonen, he'll block anything), they do their best to not let Ottawa take the shots. The team adjusts to the goalie that's behind them, now if only they play the same in front of Biron.

I need frequent updates guys!
The game is on Centre Ice, they just screwed up the guide. Look for the game on one of the channels that doesn't have a game listed (I'm in a Cogeco region, it says the game is on 441 but it's actually on 460).

Not a bad period.

Nice Avy!

Thanks, but it's the feed that's screwed up. It's sort of being shown on the channel advertised but it's unwatchable, and it's not on any of the other ones.

Not a bad period at all. You never know what team is going to show up each game, each period and that annoys me. But 16 SOG in the 1st is nice and we matched their intensity.

Keep it up and lets try and grab at least 1 point here.

gotta finish your chances against a team like Ottawa when you get them.
hopefully they can keep up the pressure and continue to create chances, if they do one or more of those Gerber rebounds is going to wind up in the net.
