Just thought I'd mention that while there's been no new blogging from Nikulin, comments to his last entry "Goodbye, Ottawa" have changed after what happened recently in the KHL. While before most Russian fans commenting were enthusiastic that he'd be back with the CSKA soon, now some are pretty much imploring him to stay, with one poster even going as far as saying "After the Cherepanov incident one thing is clear: forget Russia. They [the KHL, presumably?] killed him [Cherepanov]."

That's ****ing sad. Was that because they didn't have the defib at hand and ready to use? Or because it took awhile for the paramedics to show up? I'm not too familiar with the details on Cherapanov's death.

The last report I read said that the ambulance had already left the arena when the event happened (since the game was almost over), so they had to call it back. That and the defibs that they had were either out of order, or they just didn't have any.

Has he made any comments as to what his future plans are? Seems like he's thrown his hissy fit and now has come to terms with the fact he'll actually have to earn his way into the NHL...

With Hamel's injury, he's back on a scoring line in Binghamton with Peter Regin.

Funny how Sharp contrasts Nikulin's position against Bell's. One saying he gone the other saying he can't go due to his contract...

wow...guess Murray just lost his leverage...not that he really had any.

Nikulin to Hawks for 4th rounder is my guess.

Edit - I should say, I hope he could get that

the kid ended up being a ******. too bad i guess. maybe if he had torn the ahl a new chode-hole he would have some leverage, but as it stands he just sounds like a petulant sea-hag whining about only getting ugly mer-men.

I noticed that too, which gives me a whole lot more respect for a guy like Bell. He knows what he wants, tries really hard to get it, but won't whine, quit and stop trying if he doesn't suceed. The guy won't give up on his NHL dreams, and you've gotta give him credit for it.

Wonder what Bell means by this comment "I know a couple buddies of mine have gone over there and done that, and now they're in some trouble. So, I don't look at that as an option right now.""

Trouble as in with the league, or trouble as in they're not getting paid?

Whatever. It will suck for him if the KHL folds when the oil money dries up.

Ugh good riddance, I don't even care if we don't get anything for him.

I'd love to see the look on his face in a couple years when Zubov gets his day with the cup and shows him what dedication and work ethic lead to.

Still no new blog entry since that last one nearly a month ago. I wish he'd post one just to clarify the situation and his stance in it.

I have a feeling his agent might have told him not to after that last one.
