Not my problem anymore.

Stupid decision. Why would he hit the guy when Alberts is already on his knees at the boards. Didn't Harts get kneed in the head when he was down against the boards one time a few years ago? Do unto others I guess. I wonder how many games he gets suspended.

But this, coupled with his offensive output so far is really going to endear him to the Philly media/fans.

(On another note, Metropolit got another goal for Boston! )

Hartnell made some bad decisions with us but this one was stupid....he definitely had time to pull up as this guy was on his knees a long time before the hit was made.

I know many people around here wish that we had signed Hartnell, but his stupid penalties and cherry picking is not missed by me at all.

here is hartnell's quotes to Tim Panaccio, one of the beat writer's for the Flyers:

I asked Hartnell to give us his view of the play:

ďLupul chipped the puck to that d-man and he went down low to block the puck,Ē Hartnell replied. ďI thought it was gonna get by him. I let up a bit and finished my check. I think he put himself in a vulnerable position. I definitely didnít intend to injure him.

"I'm sure I will get a call [from Colin Campbell]."

Campbell had no comment tonight when I asked about whether all these Flyer hits are going to factor into his decision.

Gonna seem like a deliberate head shot by another Flyer, I said.

ďIt wasnít deliberate, I didnít try to hurt him," Hartnell replied. "Iím not that kind of player. If you look at the all games this year and past years, Iím a guy who finishes his check. He was close to boards. It wasnít like he was 2-3 feet from the boards Ö I let up. Itís unfortunate he stayed down.Ē

hartnell just doesn't get it....whenever he made a bone head stupid player here, he never manned up and took responsiblity for it...and true to form....he doesn't here as well....what a putz.

by the way...he got 2 games for it, and lucky he didn't get a lot more....if they would have had to carry alberts off on a backboard and neck collar, or he would have been concussed.....it would have been a helluva lot more...

I love the logic: I'm not a dirty player, therefore it isn't a dirty hit. Sorry, Scott, it is a dirty hit (or so reckless and stupid as to be deemed dirty). 2 games is not enough- not close- for checking a guy on his knees without the puck.

I thought losing Hartnell would be the biggest blow to the Preds but it's this kind of move and other bonehead/selfish acts that I believe drove Trotz and Poile crazy and led to their preference not to have him.
