George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
Pettinger??? one goal gets you the scratch. its only a matter of time. i am not entirely sure the Caps wouldn't be better off with Clymer.
I'd be fine with that
ive always liked Pettinger and wasnt surprised with his strong season after the lockout (although I didnt expect 20 goals). He's been banged up a bit since but in my mind he has gotten away from the style he played that season, at least to some degree. He will need fortunate bounces to have seasons like that again, but he should be a double digit goal guy even without that
a couple of these guys (Gordon, Pettinger, Steckel, Laich) are going to have to start producing a little more offense....if not bring in someone who can play that role and chip in 15 goals, they cant be that hard to find
with semin back, B-cubed playing as a unit, The Boy's d prowess, me guesses princess was due for a sit down.
that being said, im willing to bet brooks brother/steckel is/are now on the clock. they'll need to continue and improve in order to stay. specially if matt works his tail off in practice and impresses.
Laich is on pace for 21-ish points - not bad for his bottom six role and virtually zero PP time... plus he PKs pretty well and is sound in his end...
OT - on the Caps webpage, i just noticed that Beckis is in pictures 1,2,3 (the other 2 are Boudreau) - did i explain that clearly at all? just saying he has figured into alot of scoring since that Philly game
