I hope Brashear tangles with Peters again this year. Peters got tossed around like a rag doll last time, maybe thats why he challenged Ernie instead.

I don't think you can blame that on Eminger. If your going to point a finger at someone look at Erskine.

That bounced off of 4 or 44 I think - a bit of fluke but you could tell they would score there, our forwards got abused too.

Eminger and Erskine basically conceded the paint and then #44 deflects it in.

Yea, but you can't blame that goal on Eminger....even though he looked like he was lost.

Flash ruins the 3-2, Backstrom makes a great play and then they call a cheapie on Bradley.

Erksine was lost on the Buffalo goal. At least Eminger was covering his man.

Kolzig looks sharp. Gonna need to be. This looks like a Caps Sabres game so far.

nylander needs to stop asking for the puck from Semin...he isn't doing anything with it and Semin doesn't know what to do without it.

I don't see how that was Eminger's fault and I'm not a fan of his. He collapsed on the open guy, while Erskine started to follow the guy behind the net who he wasn't going to catch, then was caught not covering anyone with Eminger stuck in the middle.

Our forwards offered no help on that goal. They were spinning around and the dumped the guy to Erskine who was on the far side of the ice. The slug circled from behind the goal right as Ernie got there and dinked it off 44.

I am more concerned with the Buffalo PK than our D pairing. I think we need PP goals to win in this league.

I really don't see the reasoning of starting Erskine over Jurcina. I know Jurcina hasn't looked the greatest this season, but in my opinion he has looked better then Erskine. I really liked what Erskine brought last year, but this year he seems to always be making stupid decisions.

Backstrom is an excellent defensive forward.

Eminger tried to block out a forward but offered an easy target to bounce the puck off of. Kolzig was there Erskine closed and made the guy shoot, Emmy was just standing in the crease by the far post with this back turned. It's only their first period together in 9 months.

That 1st period sure looked familiar.

Winning the faceoffs, keeping pace with shots....and trailing.
