Got a little teary eyed on that one. I know a lot of players are great people but Alex really stands out as particulary sincere person. Perfect guy for that girl to talk to because of his amazing attitude towards life. Believe it or not but there have been plenty of true stories where a person with cancer healed themselves with a positive attitude.

just wanted to wish your daughter the best of luck. Ovie is amazing (on and off the ice), but your daughter is the real hero here.

I copied and pasted your story in an email to my wife yesterday. She cried as she read it. She's spent a lot of time with people with cancer. Too many.

Also, she got to meet AO after our come from behind last year against Ottawa. All the guys were at Clyde's. He was very gracious and talked to her for a bit. Basically in a round about way if it wasn't for the Caps tanking and about to get him, I would have never played hockey and would have never met her.

In the midst of all the excitement and hot woman dressed up to the 9s, he spent time talking to her in her jeans and Russian AO jersey about me and our relationship through hockey.

Such a great story. I wish your family all the best, I'll pray Lulu wins this fight.

AO, doesn't surprise me. He's a stud. Like one poster said, he's a normal guy who's good at hockey. How can anyone not like this guy?

Im terribly sorry to hear about your daughter. Thats just awful =[. But I kept on reading about how she played hockey and all. I thought that was neat. And Its really nice to see people like Alexander Ovechkin, big time hockey star, taking time away to sit with a little girl and just talk with her. Thats awsome.

I bet Crosby would do it too, though it'd be hard for him cause he'd be crying with her

Best of luck to your daughter.

Ovechkin, not Crosby, should become the face of this league. That is a truly heartwarming story. Best of luck to your daughter. I wish her a speedy and complete recovery.

After reading this, I am officially a Caps fan. Though, I don't know anything about your team except AO, Semin, and you're heading for a first overall pick. Glad I stopped by this board(my first time stopping by actually). Oh, I'm a Sharks fan btw. Great story Get well Lulu.

Lulu = Lyalya

My guess is Alex called her not Lulu, but Lyalya (Ляля), or Lyalechka (Лялечка). This is how Russians call baby girls sometimes. For example, here's the Russian internet catalog site http://www.lyalya.ru that sells babies products similar to what Babies"R"Us does.

What you say is true but he also could mean lulu as a princess, I think this is what it means in one of the asian languages.

Wow, what a touching story. That was so great of him to do for your daughter, that little bit of time with him probably means more to her than he can ever imagine. I knew I liked that guy for a reason, but I have an immense amount of respect for him after reading this. Really amazing.

And I'm so sorry to hear about your daughters condition. Best of luck to her in the future.

This got pointed to on the Sabres board too. Let me add my good thoughts for your daughter to the list. I hope this Christmas and New Years is a special one for your family and brings good news on the medical front.
