If I'm not busy with other necessary commitments (and if my cable provider is good), I should be able to watch. If I can't watch (but am in the house), I'm listening to it.

Let's get these two points.

I actually like the early start. Wake up and its game time (on the west coast).

And I like CBC a lot too.

If you're gonna beat us, beat us bad. Like 6-0 or 7-1 or something like that.

Apparently a 5 games losing streak isn't a wake up call for these lazy arrogant *****.

I always hate games up in Ottawa. Not only do we lose, but we usually get blown out.

Lets go Rangers.. beat this slumpin Sens club.

I wouldn't mind the 2 PM start if I didn't already have plans, but oh well. That's what Rangers in 60 is for.

Lets get this win!

Martin Gerber is back in net for Ottawa today. He had major issues with his puck handling on Thursday night.Dump the puck behind the net and force him to handle it and send two forwards at him

Quote:
Senators goalie Ray Emery could have been forgiven yesterday if he felt a bit confused.

As practice wrapped up at Scotiabank Place, coach John Paddock skated down the ice, sought out Emery and let him know he'll be getting another break today.

Given Martin Gerber's spotty performance vs. the Predators on Thurday, it would not have been a surprise to see Emery get the nod today against the Rangers

Now that Gerber has suddenly lost his magic touch, allowing goals from sharp angles, off big rebounds and from miscommunication with his defencemen around the net, the numbers are bleak. He has allowed 14 goals on the past 85 shots he has faced over the past three games for a save percentage of .847, and has looked a lot like the Gerber who began the 2006-07 season. His overall goals-against average has ballooned to 2.38.
Quote:
The goalies are zigging while the players around them are zagging. Nashville's fifth goal Thursday came after Gerber mishandled the puck behind the net, leaving his defencemen vulnerable. Nashville's Jordan Tootoo passed the puck in front to Martin Gιlinas, and Andrej Meszaros accidentally kicked the puck into his net while scrambling to get back into the play. In Wednesday's loss to the Islanders, Shean Donovan recovered a loose puck in front of Emery and took it behind his own net. After Donovan was stripped of the puck, Emery was slow to cover the post, allowing Mike Sillinger to score. It's the nature of hockey that stuff happens, but the Senators are being burned too often by not living up to the old KISS (keep it simple, stupid) philosophy

Shubert will replace Volchenkov on the pairing with Phillips which will be used against Jagr

I'm guessing no HD, since the last Ottawa game and Toronto game were not in HD.

Agreed, although Ottawa is struggling right now, they are still a great team, and it's time for the Rangers to show they can compete with them.

This is a good game to prove we're getting our game together. If we play tough and keep putting the puck on net I know this can be a win. Just have to earn it. Lets go boys!!

Yeah, I'm usually flipping between the Rangers and the HNIC game. Now I'll just watch the Rangers game and then flip between all the other games that start later.

Volchenkov being out is good for us, but still Phillips is really good as a shutdown dman. Schubert is an ok player and he plays with some grit but he's not as good as Anton.

Sweet, I was afraid I wouldn't wake up in time for the game. I love the afternoon games because I don't have to wait as long, and plus this game I get to watch on CBC and see Don Cherry and his wacky attire.

Man, that's beautiful. Ever since I started going to school up here and I realized I get CBC, my friends and I watch HNIC religiously to see what Donny comes up with next.

Well, that's what happens when your team kicks so much ass for so long.

One day they wake up and go "are we really that good"? Then naturally they start undermining their own abilities and underperform

Or

They are just tired. Or on hiatus

Either way, all it takes is a lucky bounce for a team like Ottawa to rebound. Hope that bounce comes in the game after this one
