Oh, joy. Florida again. Yes, for the fourth time in seventeen days the Caps and Panthers face off with Washington still looking for their first win in the season series.
After tonight's game the Caps will have five days between games to soak in Boudreau's system alterations. When the Caps get back in action next Friday against New Jersey it will start a stretch of seven games in eleven nights.
The Caps stink against the Panthers. They don't win when they play well. So, the combination doesn't excite me. Johnson playing doesn't excite me either. Maybe he can come up with a big game.
Back to backs, lost 3 in a row. Don't play well against this team anyway. 3-1 Panthers is what I think is most likely.
I sort of feel like as long as the goals against remain improved and they stay in games that this lack of scoring and losing will stop at somepoint and it will go the other way. When that happens? I would expect it to be against a team they terrorize as a rule. Not the Panthers.
i guess the good news is that last night we put 5 over the goal line. so maybe the offense is coming around...
Our top line had two nice plays that led to goals at even strength last game - I don't remember the last time that I saw our top line do that. If we can get a top line finally established, it will provide the foundation for the rest of the offense. Our top line has been a joke for about 4 years now but think this may be the one.
i don't remember who addressed this in last nights thread (might have been Devil Dancer, might have been TVF i'm not sure) but Kolbe just said that during the long layoff this week Boudreau is going to start "implimenting his system and talking to players 1 on 1 to get everyone on the same page."
