Yeah, if youve never played on a sports team this looks like a problem, but this type of stuff happens in the heat of the moment. It could mean something good, could mean something bad, could mean nothing. But its not really a big deal.

The best teams have internal battles like this occasionally, it's good for airing things out and gives the whole squad a chance to tease them for a few weeks.

Pitkanen is a god, playing fantastic. Leave him out of this.

Here is at least one version (and Jason Smith sat out practice with a thumb injury):

http://www.courierpostonline.com/app...TS04/712040362

A few minutes before the Flyers hit the ice at the Skate Zone Monday morning, a power outage left the rink dimmer than normal.

An hour later, Danny Briere and Sami Kapanen provided enough sparks to keep the backup generator going when they exchanged punches during a heated drill late in practice.

Briere and Kapanen, each of whom is listed at an exaggerated 5-foot-10, traded a flurry of punches while battling for a puck along the boards in a 2-on-2 drill. They were quickly separated by teammates.

"It wasn't much," Briere said. "It was a battling drill. I think he gave a shot to somebody and then he gave me a shot. There were some pushes back and forth."

For the record, those weren't pushes, they were punches.
