Would someone please explain

why Scott Nichol still has a spot on an NHL roster? He is a useless hack and possibly the biggest waste of a uniform in the Preds lineup (with the possible exception of Gelinas)

Well his penalty was a bad break. I think he went to check Bris in the back when he turned on him. Did you see the flying elbow to the head that he received? Id be mad too.

Nichol has been much better this year than last. I have to give him some slack for tonight given thr circumstance.

Perhaps from a discipline perspective he's better, but he still has zero skill. It seems like he's floundering on the ice at least twice a game and he has no offensive ability. There must be some player in the AHL that could take his spot.

Very good faceoff man, very good PK and some puck skill. I'm happy with him.

Great effort, finishes his checks, scraps every play, perfect player for the 4th line.

9-1 in faceoff circle last night. 50-50 pucks are what decide games. That is 9 posessions we can DIRECTLY attribute to having him on our team.

Wow--9 out of 10 faceoffs won by Nichol--I missed that I guess.

For the money---IMO Gelinas is a keeper also.

Most of them actually - still not impressed by Nichol. Notwithstanding his penchant for taking penalties at the worst possible time, I just don't see why he's consistently in the lineup. He has done well at faceoffs, but that's it - Perrault was good at faceoffs. Nichol is clearly worthless on offense. With respect to his D,pPeople talk about how he finishes checks, but he plays out of control - hence the many penalties - and often takes himself out of position defensively.

I see that the Powder Keg is talking to Colin Campbell today about a possible suspension today

http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs..../71203026/1028.

As for the topic at hand, I agree with Trigg that Nichol is ideal for the 4th line, he does need an anger management shock-collar though.....

That doesn't sound good. Probably a one game suspension though.

Nichol has been ok this year. His faceoff wins are huge. And I agree, he does need to be more careful and not react as harsh. His spear in the playoffs last year still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Nichol Gets Five Games

The repeat offender gets 5 games.

Trotz with a pretty accurate statement:
"It’s one of those things where -- when people do things to you -- you have to remember that old `Count to three before you react. But I think he counts to one half."

Clearly the shock collar will need to be very, very fast to be of any use.

I still have a hard time believing the Hartnell hit wasn't in this 5 game range.

Not that Nichol was a saint on his play, but the fact that he got more games then Hartnell is a joke.

I guess Nichol's reputation played a huge part in this.

When it's your fifth suspension in your career, you probably deserve to get more.
