still Dislike oliwa from when he was a devil. And they played the wings. He fell at around the face off circle, turn and slide into the boards on his knee. Igor Larionov was knocked down and was against the boards. and Oliwa slide almost 20 feet and delivered a shoulder [maybe the side of his body] into Larionov's head, who was down and didnt see it coming. replay showed him just sitting on his knee sliding and looking right at larionov, and hitting him.

never liked the guy after that.

I agree... I don't think he deserved to get thrown out of the game. It looked like goaltender interference, that's all. He didn't deliberately try to punch or elbow Giguere. He was trying to get out of Giguere's way but made accidental contact.

"``It was a stupid play by an idiot,'' said Giguere, who had his mask knocked off and was sent sprawling to the ice by the collision. ``As long as you have guys like that in the NHL, it's going to happen.'' "

Just hit him with the 2x4 in your shoulder pads, Jiggy.

Giguere probably wishes Kevin Sawyer was still around to enact some vigilante justice...

The first time any Nuck player says anything to the media, everyone ought to hammer you. Sheesh. You cut absolutely no slack to any player talking to the media. They are automatically whining or a crybaby . Giggy does have a point in this instance, it was a stupid play. He can't like having his helmet dislodged by a goon.....

Why doesn't he something about it? He wears 30 pounds of pads, he has a free pass anywhere on the ice...

Giguere is Polish for " run me.' In the end, it worked out well for calgary, rattled him and they got a win. Oliwa is not a player you can trust to be a decent player or a player you can trust not to cost you a game. He is just tough enough to keep around and helped calgary to victory tonite although it can go the other way with a 5 minute major. Giguere should be pissed, his and his teams play has been below average and babcock knows in his heart that Gerber has been worthy of every second start if not more. More money, more problems said the famous artist P diddy

Yeah, guys like Oliwa are the problem. Cheating like J.S has been doing is not a problem though. He is class all the way.

One advice Gigger, next time you go behind the net make a play without changing your mind and maybe noone will run in to you.

Also, next time you get lit up try coming up with a better excuse than that. Sore loser.

Please note that Oliwa ran HIS OWN PLAYER on the same play. He didn't do it on purpose so stop making it look like a "game plan".

Great quote by Don Taylor on Sportscentral Pacific:

"Oliwa gets five and a game...and Giguere gets the Oscar."

So true.

Nowhere does my post imply it was part of the game plan. I just said the sequence worked out to their advantage. It could have been disasterous- intentional or not.

Hey Jiggy, quit crying you *****, they already protect the goalies way too much when they come out to play the puck.

No doubt, but Sawyer was the designated retributional goalie-runner versus the Flames.

Ouch Calgary has to listen to Ryan Walter. You can watch the play be described in detail, even though you can see it clearly.

No problemo...

http://bone.chimp.ca/flames/

It's the second of the three videos. The first is Iginla's 50th in Chicago and the third is Jarome's ****kicking of Billy Guerin.

What's really great about the brawl is near the end of the footage, with about 15(?) seconds left in the game, Dave Lowry flips the puck out of play so Craig Berube can come back on the ice for one last fight. Classic!

Video courtesy of CrazyJoe and others at Calgarypuck.
