If the Rangers do lose his rights after this season, I don't think he will sign. There are just so many good young players in this organization that it would be almost pointless to sign. From the Rangers prospective, they probably do not see any need in signing him, besides possibly being trade bait.

His Talent is maxed out in the AHL or Finland. Doesnt have top 6 forward talent and cant kill penalties, cant fight, not fast enough to be an energy player.

Hard worker. Good Luck Immo.

He's leading his team..

in points. I don't think he was going to be top six material, but there were uses for the kid beyond how he was used here.

He's being sarcastic because we got Immonen and others in the trade away of Brian Leetch when Immonen will turn out to be nothing for us.

Brian Leetch was traded in 2004 for Jarko Immonen, (the player we're talking about here) that bum Maxim Kondratiev, and two Maple Leafs draft picks. Whom I believe turned out to be Lori Korpikoski and Michael Sauer.

I do like what we turned those picks into...but man I loved Leetchie. Hate having memories of him as a Leaf and a Bruin. Just makes me ill. And if Korpikoski and Sauer end up not doing anything I'll forever loathe that trade.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on the picks.

No. The Second round pick was Sauer which the Rangers kept, but the first round pick was traded to the Flames, which turned out to be Kris Chucko (another nobody).

Hmmm..I thought it was first round pick in 04 and second round pick in 05, no?

And I thought the first round 04 pick was Korpikoski and 05 pick was Sauer? Where is my memory failing? (It fails me all the time I'm just curious now.)

The 2004 was a first round pick and was traded to Calgary, in which they chose Kris Chucko.

The 2005 2nd round pick was Michael Sauer, the Rangers obviously kept that one.

The 2004 first rounder (#24) was traded to Calgary for their first round pick (#19) in order to move up to select Korpikoski.

Yes, especially with that excellent performance Korps is putting up in Hartford.

But hey, at least we have Sauer, right?

ridiculous. I dont regret the trade ever happened. Heart and sould leetchie was a ranger, but this is also a buisness and this team needed a new make up. We may not have gotten as much as we wanted from trading him, but give credit to sather who knew hed hit the nerve of every ranger fan that was already calling for his head. He did the right thing.
