He has struggled at times this season, but there's no doubts anywhere that Andrei Markov makes the Montreal Canadiens a much more talented hockey club. It appears, finally, that the gifted Russian will be able to showcase that talent Friday night in New Jersey when the defenceman is expected to return to the Habs lineup after a painful 10-game abscence.
i hope your right tuggy if he's back to his last year form we're that much better hockey club.
Imagine if we could have him playing at the level he did last year..that would add some much needed puck moving at the rear. IMO that is on place that we lack in. We don't have the greatest puck moving defensemen. Markov also has a great shot from the point, him out there instead of Bouillon on the second PP sounds much better to me.
With Markov back and Balej up, how many active players do we have ?
Dackel is still nursing a knee injury and Kilger will be a healthy scratch, thus making room for both Markov and Balej. The questions lies what will be the new D pairings with Markov in the lineup and where will Balej play. I hope he gets some PP time and isn't asked to play strickly a defensive role. Also of note there's mention that Dagenais has a sore back, I can see Balej getting second line ice time if Dagenais struggles tonight!
