Giguere should have stopped that soft shot from 10 feet away without giving up a rebound which led to the goal.

I believe the phrase you're looking for, according to the main board, is "Pronger is a filthy player."

Can we stop with the penalties already?

I take it back - these CBJ announcers are worse than Ahlers & Hayward. I didn't know that was even possible.

Perry is the recipient of 2 gift goals, this one from Pronger. Although he had some to do with this one.

Nah, he deserves a goal for that one. He got in position, it was a tough pass to handle, but he controlled it easily and quickly sniped the corner.

He did good moving into position and controlling the puck/changing the angle. And he let loose a good shot. But the key to me was that Pronger sent the pass diagonally through the box. Certainly not like the 1st one that was all Getzlaf. But Pronger's pass was as important if not more important than what Perry did.

I felt like crying when Perry's last shot hit the post. I guess that open net goal he scored against Phoenix makes up for it.

I was watching downstairs, I grabbed a drink and took my computer back up to my room to watch the rest and I missed Pahlsson's goal.

Y'know it's funny. Pahlsson's like one of the last ones you'd look to if you want offense. But it's obvious he has the skill. Like his play in the Olympics, or that goal in the finals to win game 2. Or that penalty shot goal. He just completely ignores offense to be the best defensive center in the game, even though he could be an effective scorer if he wanted to.

I'd rather have had a Pahlsson penalty shot goal than a Perry 3rd goal

Perry has been a 'recipient' this game... but he is a big, skilled kid who got into positions to be eligible to net 'easy' goals. So he didn't earn a breakaway by beating 2 defenders, the guy still earned his goals by earning his positions and space on the ice.

I can't imagine Perry on another team and I surely hope there is some agreement in the works on his contract... even if all sides to agree on the same contract Getz has.

Speaking of Getz though.. that one penalty kill in the 2nd (I can't identify which) where he dominated the Jackets zone and got a few chances... Its just really nice to see the two kids flash a skill.

Ha. I know Pronger's strong, but he's not THAT strong. Nice job Nash.

Marchant hits Fedorov right in front of the ref. Fedorov seems to have a back made of Flubber, but easy call.

What is with all of these Columbus dives? Fedorov jumped off his feet after little Marchant touches him from behind.

All these penalties really piss me off. We're like the Corey Perry of teams, we've got a rep and usually receive a couple of penalties each game are weak because of it (not referring to any particular call). And it sucks because we get in situations like these over and over where we get outplayed and outshot because we're shorthanded so much, and there's only so much Giguere and the PKers can do when we're down two men.

To wit: I think it's pissing me off more because I have to listen to these guys drone on about "Nikky" Zherdev and scream his name orgasmically when he scores. Nicknames are fun, except when they sound like women's names.
