Does anyone know what NHL teams do with the gear at the end of the year? do they just toss it out or like here in buffalo sell it at the team store?

In Boston, the Bruins give it to the pro shop at their practice rink to sell. They also sell equipment from players who have been traded / sent down to providence for an extended period of time. You can find mostly sticks but occasionally they have other equipment.

Some of it ends up in the team store. Alot of teams have a big sale with used & unused gear. Watch the team websites for info.

I know the Canucks have an annual (possibly two?) equipment sale. I'd imagine that most teams do this.

I always wondered hoe much the Canucks charge for their old stuff, I always have a feeling that it's overpriced compared to other used stuff jsut because it was from the Canucks. I never bought used equipment though.

I've never been to the equipment sale, but a guy I know went and seemed to be happy with the prices he paid for some sticks.

the rangers had something recently but most people that went to MSG for it say it was mostly hats and t-shirts for a few quid. Not exactly what people had in mind.

The Habs have sales about twice a year. I have no idea how much the things normally go for, but people who did were very happy with the prices.
