I didn't care who won this game but that sure is bogus. Michigan won that game

Absolutely ridiculous, as everyone else said, Michigan scored the goal, there was no ****ing logical reason to retract their 3rd goal, and then the game is unnecessarily prolonged. This shouldn't have had to go to 2 OT.

Miami OH's story is good and all, but they shouldn't have won. That simple. Michigan scored in 1 OT, they won this game. But the refs wouldn't allow it. **** the refs, man. ****ing ********.

This was the first college hockey game I saw, I usually don't get into this ****, but I'm drawn in now.

Yeah i am not sure on the exact ruling. If the goalie had posession, he should have been able to keep it. The whistle did go, but it was early. By the rules, i am OK. I hate it when refs decide the game like that though.

Yep that sucked for Michigan. How many times have you seen a quick whislte blown though. It seems to be happening more and more every year.Hell it happened to my girls high school team I coach at least 4 times this year where a quick whistle cost us a goal. Not a damn thing you can do about it though.

It's the lack of consistency that drives me nuts. I thought there would be a whistle blown before Cannone could get his 2nd goal; I can't see how the refs still had sight of that puck.

For the first time in over a decade, I really have no feel for how Michigan will do in the upcoming season. True freshmen, Chris Brown, and Carl Hagelin will really have to step it up. Beyond that, it's a crap shoot in my mind.

Also, goaltending is a MAJOR question mark given the de-commit of Jack Campbell <sobbing>

J-Camp would have made Michigan an instant CCHA Championship contender.

Michigan is the one team that can match BC in foot speed. The forwards consistently got by the very good defenses of Wisconsin and Miami, two of the best defenses in the NCAA last year, when I watched them play those teams. If the team gels earlier this year than last then they should be good for the second round of the playoffs or so. The goaltending isn't too shabby, but neither guy on the squad is Campbell, that's for sure.

I'm hoping Pateryn can step up this year, he seemed to do well in the 2nd half, has been getting good reviews from the Habs development camp.

I personally think Mac Bennett is going to be very good, saw him in the USHL and found him impressive, but we'll see how he adjusts to the higher level of play. Has gotten high marks from the Habs development camp last year and in June this year.

Considering the Devils will have 3 prospects on the Wolverines this year, I will be following Michigan very closely. Going to try get to a few games this year as well. I can't wait to see how Merril develops there...

Pretty nice preview of the Wolverines 2010-11 roster. Should be a very deep offensive team. Hopefully the D can lock down the CCHA competition.

Also, ranked #4 in USA Today Preseason Poll.

How has Michigan's offense been? Because they are going to need it this weekend, to score at all on Kapalka.

Defensemen Tristin Llewellyn and Jacob Fallon suspended for rest of the season for violatin gteam policies. Tough way for Llewellyn to end his Michigan career.

I agree. I have never rooted so hard for Western Michigan in my life. Also, the pairwise ranking is setting up nice for Michigan to nab a #1 seed. That would be clutch.

When is the proper time to start a college hockey playoff beard? Now or after the CCHA playoffs end?

I think now is perfect. Get past that awkward stubble phase and right into full man-beard glory in time for the tourney.

Michigan beat BGSU tonight 5-1. NIce start to the CCHA tourney for them. The bad news -- appears David Wohlberg is out for the season with a broken collarbone. Michigan doesn't have a lot of top-flight offensive talent, so this loss is huge.
