Line-up's are just a guess based on both teams most recent games.

Nylander is still questionable for the Caps I assume, and Malik/Mara/Strudwick is basically a coinflip.

5-1, Blueshirts.

Jags twice, Prucha, Gomez, Cally

AO =P

Looking at their lineup... that's one terrible team on paper.

the lineup is terrible on paper but they played a high energy game vs the Devils the other night and with our scoring woes you know the game will be tight like they all are.

Yay, get to see my Rags in person without driving back up to NYC! It should be a good game, the Caps generally come at us hard, and AO is always on top of his game against us.

Nick Backstrom has been playing terrific of late, so keep an eye on him. Bruce Boudreau, the news Caps coach, seems to have lit a fire under Backstrom's ass.

Malik scratched again...

Anyone feel that a trade could be in the works?

Let's hope so. Malik has been a good citizen up until recently, and I'm afraid keeping him around as a healthy scratch could turn ugly. I'd love to get something of value back for him, but at this point I'd be content with a salary dump, getting a low pick back for him.

See my post above, my line-ups are pretty much just a guess. there are is no news on concrete line-ups yet. I'll edit the main post later, just wanted to get the thread posted early.

I feel that he has value.

To the fans in NY he may not, but i think that to a contending team, he has value.

Despite what a lot of fans say, he is a good player. He can contribute offensively, and is not as detrimental defensively as some make him out to be.

And he has been a good guy through all of the disparity from the fan base.

But i agree, it could turn ugly.

We could get back something of definite value if we package him.

We may or may not need a scoring winger. Perhaps Montreal or someone else would be quick to pull the trigger on a deal that would include Montoya, and give us back one of their underachieving wingers(underachieving this year)?

As i mentioned, someone like Michael Ryder could probably be had this year for not such a steep price considering he is REALLY underachieving this year. But that is speculation on my part.

I'll give you that he's decent at making outlet passes, but he's a career .20 ppg player. I think it might be a stretch to say that "he can contribute offensively." Malik's offensive production is pretty much replacement-level or below for a guy getting top-four minutes on defense.

Let's hope things work out for all parties.

I don't think we'd even be having this trade talk if Malik was at least a bit more physical.

also, u have to think that Sather isnt going to let a guy getting paid 2.5 mill a year to just sit in the press box and eat up cap space...hes gotta be going somewhere

as for the game its definitely going to be tough...i watched most of the Caps-Devs game and the caps are hard working and definitely play tough now....im going for a rangers win but its going to be close

4-2 ranger win

Jagr, Prucha (2), Drury with an empty netter

Ovechkin and Semin with Wash's goals

LETS GO RANGERS!!!!

firstly i dont care of the score, just the 2 points and secondly, i'd be shocked (and delighted) if we score 4 goals....

we need to go in there and stifle them in the 1st and play solid puck posession hockey... then hit them later in the game.

3-1 and no more than 3 unfortunately....

Brashear on the 2nd line.

Washington's 1st line has looked great though (what would you expect?). I watched their last game vs. Devils and Washington rightfully won with hard work. Kölzig let in a big softie, but we can be guaranteed he will play his best against us, like all other goalies.

If we make this a low scoring, defensive game, that will rely on not making mistakes and having the best goaltender, we have the edge over Washington.

I like the effort in the GDT!

Looks good God is Avery - nice.

The only way that that Devil game becomes a huge win, is if the Rangers continue to play well and win this one. Hopefully theyve practiced scoring during the days off and they get it rolling. After seeing Philly bust out 8 last night, i'm wondered when the hell it is the Rangers turn for a night like that.

The most theyve scored in a game this year is 5, twice. It would be nice to break that and get 6 or 7 one of these days. They are WELL overdue.

As far as tonight goes, theyll have to bring their work helmets. Washington has the new coach and theyve been playing better as of late. Gotta get to them early and stay out of the box.

Washington's D should be a little different than Monday's game:

Poti-Schultz
Morrisonn-Green
Erskine-Pothier

Those were the groupings that were practicing together yesterday. Forward lines look good for Was.

It is very confusing to hear Girardi being called during the broadcast.
