All Things Fedorov. Poll Included!

There was a blurb in an Edmonton paper today saying that the Bruins could "have" Fedorov (as Bergeron is out for the year and we have cap space) if we took on his salary.

Are they actively shopping him? What would you guys expect in return? How has he looked this year (I know the stats, but just general impressions)

I think other than a few key players, most of the jackets roster would be available.

You will get many different viewpoints on how he has looked:

I'm sure just about anyone on our team could be had. As Howson generally doesn't go public with players he wants to shop(that can be a bit problematic for player loyalty), anything we add there is pure speculation.

You'll find that we are fairly split on Fed's performance for the year.

Based on how he's played, I don't think he's expendable at this point. If the Jackets remain in contention for a playoff spot, Sergei will be in the lineup.

I'd be surprised if they were shopping him at this point. As PCH says, he'd be great in the lineup if we make it past the first week of April.

As for the trade, got a first-line center or puck moving D-man you're willing to send our way?

I agree, he's been pretty good for us this season.

What has been the reason for Fedorov's improved play?

This is the best we've seen Sergei in Columbus. What do you guys think are pushing him to a level we haven't seen before(in a Jackets uniform)?

Would you re-sign him next year? For how much and how long?

Wait until we make the playoffs. The guy has been an absolute beast in the playoffs over his career. He loves center stage.

50 goals and 113 assists(+38) in 163 playoff games(he's played more playoff games than many of our guys have played NHL games). He's a point per gamer in the playoffs.

That was hilarious!

Feds needs to be resigned

Fact.

His best season since 2002

Fact.

2.5-4.5 Million for 2-3 years
I think it's because of Feds new found responsibility, and Hitch's pushing, that we've seen him work very well

hey guys Ducks fan here. I didn't want to make a new thread for this, so I decided to post it here. How has Feds done since being traded here? Personally I thought he would excel at Columbus? He was even moved to defense right? Weren't the Jackets even looking for a 1st line center? Federov is not a 1st line center?

Thanks guys
cya

That is the MAIN reason he left the Wings..He wanted a new start on a team that he wouldn't have to play second fiddle to Yzerman. The playoffs are where Feds lights it up and hopefully we'll see that this year

he was reletivly lazy until late last season, and this year he's been a key player

So would have I, but look at the former staff at Columbus

Feds varies from 2nd line to 3rd line center, but he averages a good 45 minutes a night, which is great for an offensemen.

since I can only speculate that he (or any other player on the active roster, for that matter) is "fully" healthy... ill say b, c and d.

better team, something to prove, wants to make the playoffs for the city and his teammates.

He was plagued with injuries the past two years..so he never excelled in the offensive zone because his injuries wouldn't let him. That's why Hitch put him on defense for a while last season and also because the jackets had a lot of injuries. This year he has improved on offense and he still is great on defense

FHOF. Been fun. But stick a fork in him. He's done.

He's starting to float out there. I suspect no legs left.
Time is a *****. Get something for him while we can.
His NAME ALONE is worth a second rounder and depth guy to some team in need of whatever they think Feds would bring to their playoff hopes.

45 minutes a night? I didn't look at the TOI stats, but I highly doubt Sergei is only sitting on the bench for fifteen minutes a game.
