How about some home grown?

It occured to me tonight while looking at Montreal's lines that they have 14 of their own draft picks playing tonight, 15 if you count Bouillon, who was signed as an undrafted FA.

Koivu, Higgins, S. Kostitsyn, Plekanec, A. Kostitsyn, Latendresse, Chipchura, Lapierre, Markov, Komisarek, O'Byrne, Price, Halak, Streit (Bouillon) = 15

It's quite likely that will increase to 16/17 on Saturday, when Ryder may get another shot and Brisebois could be well enough to go and replace Gorges (not that I necessarily want that).

In fact, Streit was drafted in 2004, #262 overall, so that makes 14. Very nice, indeed

I would think we would have to be.... also saw an interesting article in THN recently that looked at how many drafted players from each organization were currently playing in the NHL (not necessarily with the team that drafted them). Montreal was fourth with 31!?!?!?

I came into this thread with certain expectations only to have them shattered.

Good to see we're developing out players...now only is we could win with those players, I'd be happy as a clam

I thought this was going to be about more French-Canadian players.

I applaud you for making my day

I don't post often, so when I do, I try to make the title at least something that will stand out.
