It's Bouillon. He often gets promoted at the end of games in which we are leading.

Streit should be the guy based on skill level, but he's been subpar in performance.

And he's playing forward now. You discount his PP contributions... he's just like Brad Richards manning the point for Tampa as of right now. Brad Richards isn't considered Tampa's #4 d-man, why should Streit?

Streit (2 games up front when we've got injuries doesn't make him no longer a D in my mind) and Brisebois both get more icetime than Cube does, so I don't think you can claim that Carbo treats Cube as the #4 D.

It's one thing to be paired with Hamr and another to be actually 4th on the depth chart.

Personally, I'd take Gorges but it's hard to not get hard over O'Byrne

Do you think it is another case of "Rory Fitzpatrick for the all-star game" type of joke ?

I voted for Streit. I just think he's better than the other defensemen on this list but he can play forward too so he's really an utility player.

4-Streit
5-Bouillon
6-O'Byrne
7-Gorges

(but it will change at the end of the year IMO)

I voted for none. We don't have a true #4.

Streit is an awful defenseman imo. Third pairing at best. And that's with the right partner. My vote is for Brisebois only because Hamrlik would be his partner.

His PP production saves him. Would be perfect on a bottom pairing with a safe-stay-at-home type.

I find myself yelling at Streit a lot less than Breezer...although that might just be habit.

We all think Breezer should know better I guess...

I would like them to go with this, but O'B isn't ready:

Markov-Komi
Hammer-Breezy
Streit-O'Byrne
Bouillon

And get rid of the dead weight.

Still only 2 votes seperating O'Byrne and Streit, I'm honestly very surprised here.

A rookie defenseman who yet has to complete 5 games in the NHL is already our #4 D-man?

I can understand people complaining about Streit's choice as a 4th d-man since he played as a forward as of late, and I can deal with the fact that he may have some troubles defensively this year, but to suggest that O'Byrne, with 4 NHL-games on his shoulder, is our #4 D, I find doubtful. But that's just my opinion and I'm drunk so take it for what it's worth.

Really tough choice. I voted Streit by default. Broke down like this:

It sure is not Bouillon. I really hate him. Nice guy, great heart, no talent. No puck skill, no creativity, underwhelming defensive awareness. Will give a huge meaningless check once in a while, only to lose the puck going out of the zone.

Brisebois is no number 4 either. In a perfect world, Brisebois would play around 30 games. He is at is best playing low minute providing his great breakout passes. You sure don't want him to figure on the other team game plan, it's why you make it play low minutes in the odd game once in a while. He is not the number 4 more like 7th as it should be.

Gorges

O'Byrne : Interesting player. He is a big meat bag on a small team which is nice and needed. However, he is still limited for now.

Only one left is Streit so he is the number 4.
