Avery at home in the Blue Seats

New York Times

Neat read about Avery and his night life.

The fact that he listens to Sigur Ros makes me love him 10x more.

PS- Wheres the GDT?? Whose on it!? I would make it but I'm not savy enough and it would look awfully ghetto.

Terrific article, especially the end, “I get my anger out at work,” he said, eyeing an attractive brunette in the corner of the bar, “so I can relax afterward.”

Great article. The guy is the man, plain and simple. Can't wait until he can get on the ice once again.

“I’d rather hang myself than talk about sports,” Mr. Avery said. He turned the conversation to the New Museum of Contemporary Art downtown.

His friends ribbed him about his unjock-like sensibilities, most visible in his usual fashion palette: black, highlighted by accents of black.

“I’m a dark guy,” Mr. Avery said. “I like that funereal feel.”

That taste extends beyond clothing. Mr. Avery admitted that he drives his teammates crazy by cranking up Sigur Ros, the moody Icelandic rock band, before games. “The more sad the music, the better,” he explained.

Wait, I thought Avery was an uncultured neanderthal? I say that all apposing fans arguing such be directed to this article from now on.

Is Avery approaching cult status following in the blueseats or has he already acheived that?

Great article!

Offtopic: That an A-class website for a newspaper, wish swedish newspapers would get the concept of web design, the only thing they focus on online is getting their web TV's filled with crappy clips in AFV style, mixed with a news report every now and then....

It is pretty cool that he comes up and hangs with the true die hards. I sit in 407 so he was either side of me the 2 times he was up there. He was pretty good about autographs to. He signed them from the minute he got up there.

good choice... thats definetly in my top five. They are all so good (depressing or not) its hard to pick a favorite. untitled 3. <3

Sometimes I'll go for like a month not listening to them (listening to other bands), then I will hear one of their songs on sirius (rare) and think to myself what the hell was I thinking...

Was the benefit for Isiah? Seriously though, before the season started I had reservations about giving Avery a long-term deal. However, seeing the difference between this team with Avery in the line-up and without, I want to see him offered at least a three year deal.

A true man of the people, with his talent, skill & personality he could easily go down as one of the most popular Rangers of all time.

Sather needs to re-up him ASAP!

Doesn't appear Avery is close to returning

Quote:
There is no ETA on Sean Avery's return from Nov. 29 left wrist surgery that has cost him eight games and counting. Avery, who had hoped to play this week, is still feeling pain.

Unless/until that wrist 100%,the Rangers should offer him nothing

Offer him nothing for what? Let him sit until he's 100%...I don't have a problem with him missing another few weeks if that's how long he needs.
