Willy made his debut in a Canes uniform last night (as we all know). He only had one shot on goal. He's not wearing #14 anymore.
They did show him on Sportsnite last night and when they showed a clip from the game, he had this look on his face like he was about to cry. We miss ya Willie, good luck w/ the Canes.
No, I'm not say anything bad about Danny. I like the way this kid plays. He handles the puck very well. He laid a vicious hit on Darren Langdon last night but his helmet popped off instead. That hit is the reason we got him. We don't have anyone else besides maybe Jimmy V or Therien (both rarely hit) that will hit like that. I like the guy already. When they showed him warming up before the game, he looked geared up and ready to play. I thought he played well last night, hell, he had about 25 minutes ice time last night. I like him.
He doesnt look to happy in that pic, nor should he being sent to the Canes. He said he never wanted to leave which is a real shame. Maybe Clarke can do his usual thing and get him back in a couple of years time.
Its almost the Canes are the new farm team with Williams, Brindy, St Jaques, Boulerice and Brendl down there :p
I wish J-will the best. he just had way to much pressure on him here and it was building everyday with his scoreless drought. I hope this deal works out for both teams. Hopefully he doesnt score the game winner against us in March
Vandy, Therien, Gagne (and maybe a pick) to Tampa for Khabibulin and a forward who scores as much (or as little) as Gagne. I guess I can dream about a legit goalie in Philly
You know... he does look kind of wrong in the Hurricanes red... disgusting almost.
ya, and he looks so sad in the 1st pic that i had to use this one. i can definately live with #11 though...i was worried that he'd end up with #41 or something...lol.
here's the line from last night: brendl-staal-williams
On the contrary. Brind'Amour has been quoted as saying Carolina feels like home. He stated he never felt safe in Philadelphia; always on the brink of being traded. He has a lot of spite towards Clarke for trading him, especially since the notice of the trade was given to him by the Cane's GM after practicing for a game to be played that day (on top of that, he was wearing the C for Captain w/ Lindros out). He felt undervalued and disrespected.
Though at first he didn't like being in the non-hockey town of Carolina, he grew to love it (and the city became more aware with Carolina winning so much).

Well, that's hardly on the contrary since this is all in reference to first games.

See you on March 23rd, Flyers face the Canes.
That just makes me sick, and it makes me want to cry even more.
Maybe he'll come back,just maybe
Brind'Amour spent 9 seasons in Philly, that "look" would have been on his face if he was traded anywhere.
Wow.........take a deep breath............okay?
I wasn't disparaging Brindy, I miss him. All I was saying is he had that same look on his face his first game there. As someone said about Williams, I wanted to puke. It just wasn't right.
Brind'amour is the best thing that is going to happen to Williams in his immediate future. What he and his wife did for players, especially new ones, is make sure they are comfortable and know where to get what thy need, family doctors, homes or apartments, schools and doctors, home cooked meals.
#17 was a big part of team unity that they tried to manufacture after he left. I'm not comparing Willie to Brindy, but the trades don't seem necessary for development of the team.
"Justin Williams has just looked great all game. He has been a consistant offensive threat whenever he's been on the ice and was rewarded by using his speed to gain the zone 3-2 and did a nifty little drop pass to Francis who quickly wiped it across Broduer's face to an open Josef Vasicek. Tic-tac-toe goal."

Willy helps pull out a win for his new team and help steal two points from the Devils. Still helping us out
