Canada-Slovakia coming up in a few minutes, if anyone is interested. IIRC, posting a link to a proxy for the TSN broadcast is within the rules of the board:

mms://a24.l4537754023.c45377.g.lm.akamaistream.net/D/24/45377/v0001/reflector:54023

If I'm mistaken, apologies in advance.

Yeap it's cool with the rules, and it works, thanks.

David Skokan looks good so far: applied some good pressure on the PK and earned an odd man break for himself.

Yup. He was on the PK, and the first PP unit as well. I know Slovakia isn't the strongest team in the tournament, but that's certainly a positive reflection on Skokan's game if he's entrusted with both those responsibilities.

They just said on TSN that Cherepanov will be playing today.

Anyone know where we can get a live scoring update on that game? I think it's going on right now (vs. Kazakhstan). It's probably streamed p2p, though I'm really not trying to install any of that software on the work computer.

Live score, with limited play-by-play info:
http://www.onlajny.cz/detail.php?id=8375&hra=hokej

Russia is down 2-0 to Kazakhstan at the end of the first.

I haven't been able to find a video feed of any of the Russian games... but if someone does, please pass it along.

Cherepanov is playing.

According to the Russian online score page/play-by-play Anisimov's line had a number of good chances on Russia's first power play, Anisimov himself has had a bunch of shots around the 9 minute mark. Looks like the line is Filatov - Anisimov - Cherepanov, but it's hard to tell from the scoresheet.

He seems to be a really good hockeyplayer IMO. He ran Russias PP against Finland, and did it really well. But he also got a really unique style. Especially for a Russian. He doesn't dangle with the puck at all. He just looks to be extremely smart. Got the skill set of a typical 2-way Canadian player.
He's actually the legend's grandson. And his North American playing style is probably due to the fact that he spent time playing as a kid in North America when his dad, Vasily, was assistant coach for the San Jose Sharks and a head coach in the AHL in the 90s.

Make it 2-2. First Russian goal by Tikhonov, from Kurbatov.

Second Russian goal... wait for it... Cherepanov from Anisimov (and Doronin)!

Was just going to post this...

Cherepanov is on the board. Scoring the game tying goal in the 2nd minute of period #2. Assist from Anisimov!

Skokan looks like he's having a decent game for Slovakia...but I really wish the Russian feed was out there.

Watching the Canada game, Luke Schenn is a guy I'd love to see on the Rangers' blueline...though I doubt it happens.

It's now 2-2. Cherepanov scored the tying goal, primary assist to Anisimov.

Thanks for the link, Squishy.

nice lead pass to Skokan to split the 2-man defense, and just missed the net. after that he skated around the net and just levelled Colton Gilles with a solid and clean hit.

this guy looks good..

on the PP, and PK.. good stuff..

Who is Slovakia's goalie? They keep saying Budacek or something along those lines.
