Pittsburgh talk show host Mark Madden earlier reported that after the game last night, he spoke with a high up person of the Penguins who told him something about the owners situation. His source basically said that the owners are going to try to break the player's union - in essense, no compromise. The owners will lay out what they want done, and tell the players to call them when they want to play hockey.
Now, while Madden is very outspoken and at times so rude that's it's difficult to listen to his show, he does have his sources. He doesn't just make up complete garbage.
I thought I'd pass this along to see what everyone thought.
I think that he may have talked to one guy that might know something about the negotiations but realistically there are 30 owners and 30 agendas. How someone can come up with an overall statement like that is a little over the top.
DD only signs in Edmonton if he is a big fan of losing. The image that the Oilers are an up and coming team is dead. - WingedWheel1987
