Good job on the GDT - I just can't get up much enthusiasm for tonight. I'm thinking about offering my German Shepherd's services to the Rangers. He can't skate real well, but he can block shots and when he gets pissed off about the opposition taking liberties with his teammates he's pretty scary.

Looking at Avalanche roster, it will be a shame if Rangers lose tonight.

I wouldn't say that...Colorado is 13-3-0 at Home. Just because Sakic is out doesn't mean Colorado isn't a formidable offensive threat.

So let's see if the Rangers defense swings back the other way tonight, or if it continues to stink.

Some consistency on that front would be nice. Also, message to Girardi, stop sucking.

this is one of the problems i have with the current scheduling format... The one time i get to see sakic vs the rangers he is injured. I am glad they are switching back to the old format. I am interested to see the kid stastny play.

Let's go Rangers

Ryan Smyth is also out with a neck injury. His line with Statsny and Hedjuk was carrying the Avs

The Rangers have no excuse tonight

No? Well, let's see....there might have been turbulence on the flight to Colorado....the Rangers didn't sleep well...two games in two nights....the Grinch stole their defense....a Yeti put a curse on them....oh, and there's always the old standby: the flu. Trust me, there are plenty of excuses!

*sigh, can't say I'm too pumped for tonight. My crystal ball is saying Avs 4-2. Colorado's like 13/3 @ home.

I think it's going to take Avery's return, for this team to string some wins together- for whatever reason.
let's go rangers?

I'm hoping to God that will start Sunday...I really don't want to lose to Ottawa again. If I had a choice, win one/lose one, I'd prefer to lose to Colorado and beat the Sens.

The best thing to do IS to watch another game right away. Lets get that debacle out of our systems.

I'lll say it again, i really dont think the effort was a bad one in Minnesota - Gaborik was playing at another level and single handedly beat the Rangers for the most part. Lets see how this Ranger team bounces back.

I'm pretty sure Lundqvist will be back.

They desperately need one of their own "stars" to step up and be the difference in this one. (JAGR)

I'm still waiting. This guy is killing the team with his lack of production.

Imagine if the Rangers had a legit superstar (outside of the net) like a Kovalchuk or a Gaborik, Lecavalier, Ovechkin, Nash, Crosby, Heatley - etc.... At any moment the guy could change the game. The Rangers don't have that this year sadly enough, great teams usually do. Its going to be tough to be at the top of the NHL or win a championship without one.

Yup. The thing is Jagr can be that guy. This year he just hasn't. As far as I know, there is not a physical reasoned he hasn't produced up to his capabilities.

It's probably naive to think Jagr will just turn it on at some point this year. I would hope that when the playoffs role around, he can dominate again.

Thats why we rely upon of defense and general consistent play. At least, thats what we used to rely on.

On the surface, this years ''No one player means more than any other player'' philiosophy is good.
Lets hope it doesnt get ripped apart because of a bad December.

That being said...Jagr hat trick tonight

It seems as though Hank has fallen back into his first half of 06/07 form.....lets hope he's not making 4+ goals a game a regular thing, because God knows we dont have the offense to support a slumping goalie.

Not to give excuses, but it could be because of his father and/or lingering effects from the flu

Also someone mentioned that they saw him with a bandage on his wrist or something?

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now
